I love it! I recommend this game to anyone who love hidden object puzzle adventure games :D
un grand grand oui pour une aventure épique en plein coeur d'une Perse phantasmagorique absolument merveilleuse! C'est l'un des jeux que je préfère d'Artifex et tout est sincèrement enchanteur
This is a good Artifex Mundi game. If you like Artifex Mundi games, you’ll like this game. It may be shovelware, but it’s polished shovelware. It’s pretty breezy, probably because it has a lot less hidden object puzzles than the other games. The plot’s as predictable as all get out, but that’s expected for HOGs. I knew this Nathan Drake-ass guy who’s your partner was actually
the Prince of Persia
, but also there’s this picture later in the game that
shows him as a child with darker hair and SKIN?!
WHAT?! Writing’s also goofy when it isn't trite. “Magic is a whimsical force?” Not-Jafar cribs his "There is only power" line from Voldemort. Also, “THE SHADOW LORD,” WOOOOOOO, SCARY NAME~ No, I don’t hate this game. It was fine. I had a fine time solving the puzzles, but I want one of these games to stand out, to give me something fresh and exciting. 8 HOGs and 4 Artifex Mundi games in, and I’m still looking.
I know I shouldn't be over-critical of these types of games, as they are designed for a much younger age group, perhaps as a soft introduction to gaming, or a way of training young ones to develop problem solving skills, so I'll try to be fair. Sands of Wonders does pretty well to merge a couple of different gameplay elements into a solid story. While not as many as I would have liked, the game does have a few searching mess scenes, but it does tend to get overshadowed by other elements such as acrobatics, alchemy potion brewing, solving puzzles and creating useful items out of other items through inventory combining. Overall the game is colourful, the plot makes sense, and I'd definitely recommend it to younger kids just starting out. Obviously anyone that's older can play as well, but I played through on Advanced (the middle difficulty), and the game and achievements are all fully completed (including a lengthy spot of afk) in under 5 hours. The idea of having a duo to control may not have worked so well as there was hardly any distinction, and being told you have a shared inventory was kind of redundant - only Tara can mix potions anyway, so it might as well have just been her. One great feature of this game is the collectables - VERY well hidden, mostly taking on the form of a slightly different shadow hue than the surroundings, making it a lot more interesting than other games' hidden collectables. I almost missed the first one, but as long as you remember it's one per screen you can't go wrong. Do it as soon as you enter a new screen as there are several points of no return. Only ever truly worth it when it's on sale due to limited replayability and length to finish.
This was a good game
Most of the Artifex Mundi games are stellar and this one was no exception. I hadn't ever played this one before and while the art isn't as crisp as some other games, I did enjoy the aesthetics and storyline of the game.
ok
I really enjoyed this simple puzzle game. Good story, graphics and sound.
Not a bad game, just kind of short. I'm an experienced Point-N-Clicker, so I played on 'Advanced' difficulty & the game took about 1.5hrs to complete. I'm not sure if it's worth re-playing as the puzzles are pretty simple, despite higher difficulty settings. Nothing really memorable, but definitely pick this game up if it's on sale & you have an hour or two to kill.
