About
PERISH is a stylish 1-4 player FPS with a cross to bear. Slay hordes of creatures on the scorched sands of Purgatory and sell their gold-stained corpses to craven priests. Kill magnificent bosses and use the proceeds to gain entrance to Elysium, a place of cosmic revelations.
You are Amyetri, a corporeal spirit condemned to live a shadow life in the halfway realm of Purgatory. Bring an end to your suffering by initiating the Rites of Orpheus and defeating the chthonic deities that dominate your fractious path to Elysium.
Begin your journey with nothing but a broken sword. Only danake, the blood-soaked currency of the underworld, will afford you equipment better suited to tackling the Dismal Lords that stand between you and Elysium.
The revenant creatures of Purgatory are consumed by the same hunger for gold danake that motivates your own quest. Falling to your enemies will cause you to lose your acquired wealth. Deposit your danake in the Pantheon before you die, or continue your run to Elysium and risk losing it all.
The underworld is a lonely place. Muster up to three friends and carve a gold-soaked path to Elysium together. Deploy co-op specific gear and gadgetry to support, defend and revive each other on the perilous path towards eternal oblivion.
Survive the harsh environs of the scorched cliffs of Theseus, the dilapidated temples of Orpheus, and the volcanic foundries of Hephaestus. Navigate crumbling labyrinths, molten lakes of pure gold, and shattered mountains caught in the swallow of Charybdian whirlpools.
The priestesses hold a formidable stockpile of weapons. Use your danake to gear up on powerful crowns and rings that grant the wearer significant advantages on the battlefield. Choose from a plethora of both ranged and melee weapons, then imbue your chosen armament with a host of exciting augmentations.
1-4 player online co-op campaign sprawling across dilapidated temples, volcanic foundries, and ancient shipwrecks
A series of magnificent boss fights against rare and unexplored colossal deities from ancient Greek mythology.
More than 10 handcrafted and ornate javelins, swords, bows, and guns, each with its own unique and upgradeable offensive capabilities
Gratuitous, brutal, blood-soaked ranged and melee combat against enemies with distinctive battle behaviors
Morbid gladiators: enemies in PERISH are unforgiving, and as you travel further through Purgatory, you will meet a slew of enemies inspired by Ancient Greek, Roman, and Christian mythologies
Post-launch support: free updates to the PERISH universe, with strange new enemies and even crazier weapons to play with

This game might be fun in co-op, but as a single-player experience it isn't very satisfying. I can't go into the story because to be honest it bored me after about an hour, and cracks in the game-play were already pretty apparent by this point. Essentially it's a rogue-like mixture of first-person shooting and melee set in the Greek underworld. Though calling it a shooter isn't quite true, as you only begin the game with a limited amount of throwing daggers for ranged attacks. You can get a gun but it requires progressing through the stages and finding the weapon, then purchasing it from a shop.. So you begin the game with a melee attack, a block, a kick and throwing knives. You then find a modest selection of buffs that add status effects to your attacks, as well as earn money to buy upgrades. Upon death you lose your money and these buffs, which is great if you like being stuck with basic things over and over again, but not so great if, you know, you don't. I don't. You keep repeating the same basic areas over and over again with the same basic weapons, albeit with occasionally interesting things like the ability to cast lightning strikes upon enemies or boot them into spikes. Initially it is fun but you then notice how simple it is and that there's very little progression in the environments. Or things like killing the enemies gives very little reward due to them respawning so you may as well just run past them. If you like repeating the same three environments over and over and over again (even though they are reasonably designed, albeit very short), with the same enemy types over and over and over again, then you'll think this great. I don't. If you like enemies that teleport in every 5 seconds and don't mind the fact they can do it right in front of you, or right behind you, then you'll think this is great. I don't. This stuff might work in co-op when you have someone watching your back, but in single-player it makes the game really irritating. One of the stages had me escorting a ballista that I had to stay in contact with to complete the mission, and it was impossible as enemies simultaneously teleported in front of me and from behind and then killed me in seconds. Even if you ignore how pathetic the design is in general, it doesn't seem at all considered for one person to play. Maybe they expect you to grind and grind the "levels" (such as they are and how limited they are) to gets buff and upgrades, and then approach certain "levels". To me that kind of emphasis is boring, not to mention cheap design. Having experienced this aspect of the game I thought I'd check out the "campaign". This campaign is something they advise you not to start until you're beefed up a bit, but I jumped in anyway and my advice is just don't play it at all. The "campaign" is even more simplistic dog-sh*t: the first area I started in was a bunch of bland corridors with exactly the same game-play but worse level design. A constant stream of enemies teleporting into cramped locations with very little effort put into how it was arranged. How exciting! I flicked three switches and then got to the end, at which point I had to fend off a wave of enemies. Exactly like all the other elements that weren't in the "campaign", but this time it was topped off by having to battle three re-used "bosses" in an area with barely the room to swing a dead mouse, never-mind a dead cat. That's not my idea of a campaign. it's my idea of a poorly put-together load of old crap in a naff attempt at giving this title some content. Even the non-campaign stuff was a wee bit more inspired than this with environmental traps and actual space to move around in. After an hour to make an impression it had failed miserably. There's a nice feel to the action, it runs quite well and has passable voice-acting. Yet for all that it has a reasonable foundation to build upon, the end result is repetitive and bland. Playing it with other people might mitigate the flaws in balancing that become apparent in single-player, but repeating three tiny maps over and over again would still be boring regardless of having someone accompanying me.
Long and repetitive Slow movement Music gets stale Janky hitboxes all around Too easy to cheese All of the above gets worse past the first act 2/10, I'd rather not play video games at all instead of playing this again
Shady game that installs Epic Online Services on your PC on launch even though it says nothing about it in the game's page, if you go through the tedious process of removing Epic from the pc then all you have left is a forgettable and mediocre game I paid 2 bucks for this game and I still feel scammed.
- Short story for the price - Easy enemies and bosses even at the highest difficulty - Lots of crashes and bugs (we couldn't go further than act 3 because the game wouldn't load) Don't buy this game
DONT BuY, WASTE OF MONEY, THE PRICE IS TOO MUCH No fun : -No gameplay and repetitive -too easy to win -Laggy and buggy in Multiplayer
Alright. Imma give this an honest review starting off with, most of the reviews you are going to see are people who have set their standards way too high due to playing too many higher quality games. This game has a little bit of jank but overall it's not that bad. Secondly, the 34 hours i have in this game were mostly in the multiplayer apart from like 1 or 2 hours. Me and my friend had no problems with this game running in multiplayer, i truly do not know where everyone is getting "This game is broken in multiplayer don't play it" The multiplayer works fine. This game is a fantastic Rogue-like game, we actually liked it enough to get 99% of acheivements for it. Now i say 99% because there is one acheivement in particular that just will not work. It is purchasing all weapons skills and items in the shop. I have done so twice and it still will not work. The gameplay is very fun, you start with a broken sword (Which as you go through the levels, you can find the pieces for and put back together and make the strongest melee weapon in the game in my opinion.) a few throwing knives which recharge and a kick. The kick is basically your strongest weapon starting out until you unlock the pistol. The level design is a bit short but gets bigger and longer as you progress and its basically the same enemies throughout the whole game apart from a few new ones you encounter later on. It has plenty of weapons skills and items that are all very fun to use in their own right. The game overall for me was a solid 7.5/10. Don't forget as well. If you buy it and play some but realize you don't like it, there is always a refund feature on steam for that exact reason. Try a game, don't like it? Refund it. Try it but you do like it? Keep it. But don't just take my word for it, give the game a shot and try it out for yourself.
This game is bad if you have a bad connexion, Full of bug. If you manage to have a door closing on you you will go flying outside the map and you will need to reset. Not abble to finish the game before its not starting the act 3 (2 levels before the end). To easy walking simulator. For 4 $CAD its still a waste of money.
Buggy always getting stuck and losing runs. Can't be bothered to even try to finish it. Co-op mode is buggy as all hell
Super Good Game, No Crashes and Lots of Fun, no repetitive gameplay!!!
ITS A PERFECT MIX INBETWEEN DOOM AND GREEK MYTHOLGY GREAT WAY TO PASS TIME AND LONG STORY MODE WITH IT THEN THERES ALSO THE EXODUS CAMPAIN ITS SO WORTH IT
