Aí alguma coisa aparece: "Ok... talvez seja melhor correr." E quando você finalmente consegue escapar: "Agora posso ficar tranquilo." Spoiler: não pode. ⭐ NOTA FINAL: 9/10 EU RECOMENDO ESTE JOGO. (mas não recomendo ficar parado no escuro esperando descobrir o que está atrás de você)

Chased By Darkness is entirely new type of horror game. Compare to Devour, Pacify, or Phasmo. Players are able to fight back using weapon and able to kill the monsters. The map has different facility to explore and scenes can be triggered. No doubt this game has potential and LORE to fulfill. I'm not really sure if "Chased by Darkness" is an asset flip. Some elements of this game certainly make it seem like the developer put some effort into assembling some kind of original here. On the other hand, a lot of the game assets don't seem like they were created by the developer, but they haven't credited any asset creators for supplying assets, which might be a case of plagiarism. There's no evidence, so we need to give the benefit of the doubt... regardless, asset flip or not, the quality here is indistinguishable from many asset flip/cash grab scams, and that's a problem in itself. This is one of those "rinse and repeat" progression games where you go on a run through a dark jumpscare environment with a gun, shooting occasional bad guys, juggling keys and a torch and trying not to get scared by the big bad jumpscare asset. Completing the run gives you XP and other rewards that boosts you up on the next run... repeat ad nauseum. There's a co-op focus to the game, so you need to co-ordinate with your friends to play this... I guess that's easier for the developer than making a compelling single player experience. Creating content is hard! Why bother? Like I always say, if the only thing that makes a game fun is your friends, that just proves it's fun to spend time with your friends, and doesn't say much for the game at all. On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers. The game is seriously janky and unpolished... while gameplay and visuals are critical for any game to be successful, there's also the difficult to describe but ultra important aspect of how the game handles and "feels" to play... it's clear little playtesting went into this game. It's a clunky mess. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a modest spike in player counts for the game. But this only happened once, around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? "Chased by Darkness" is relatively cheap at $4 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 14,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
