Perfume Atelier

This game was really fun; there were many different customers, each with their own preferences. You could create, decorate, and name your own perfume bottles. I also really enjoyed being able to grow your own ingredients in the garden. Unfortunately, I found the potion area a bit too cluttered; I had as many as 100 bottles... which caused a lot of chaos.! But i would still reccoment this game! :)

Overall, this is a really chill casual sim game. I enjoy it. I just wish that you were able to have more freedom in creating your own recipes and were able to throw things away - I got WAY too many pine cones from my garden and my table was getting crazy full of pine bottles and I wasn't able to make any room easily. I also ended up muting the music as hearing the same 3 songs on repeat was starting to make me go insane XD

I think I would have enjoyed this game a lot more, but the pestle didn't work even with v-sync turned off. Without being able to make perfumes, there's no point in keeping it.

I love this addictive game! As someone who loves gaming and messing with herbalism, essential oils, cosmetics, etc. (my husband jokingly calls it "alchemy") in my real life, it is right up my alley. It reminds me a lot of Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator in the best way. There are so many satisfying and soothing elements, and I am so appreciative of the ability to remove the time-pressure mechanics for a stress-free play experience. Customers and sellers are quirky and the game mechanics for selling are simple yet upgradable (start with a “PoS” card reader that jams every 3-4 customers lol). I love growing plants and distilling essential oils, as well “discovering” new perfume recipes. There is no annoying trial and error either because the undiscovered recipes show the outline of the ingredients. The mini games involved in perfume crafting are fun and the game progression is satisfying enough to negate the potential tedium of mixing every perfume by hand. The game has a lot of potential for expanded content (such as their under-implementation of candles) and could use some polishing to the systems already in place (storage access, for example). Regardless, this game is fun as is and I am excited to see where the devs go from here.

Solid, but rough around the edges first game. Short game with no save slots, so buy on sale for a fair price. Nice implementation of a classic make and sell game. My only gripes are that upgrades to equipment does not do anything to the user experience until the last one, which skips the mini game completely, and the recipes are basically told to you instead of you getting to experiment. That being said, the relaxed mode is great for a few minutes of play here and there, and the supply management is a good little puzzle to solve. The garden, which many other games fall short, is well implemented here. The couple of QOL updates that have been done since release, such as combining essence jars, have really added good value. I'll be following to see what's next.
