About
it’s so easy to tell the truth.
doesn’t something in your gut want more of a challenge?

perfect liar is a modern juke-em-up.
you squeeze the dice roll of a roguelike into the finesse of a bullet hell
and you speedrun through it like the world will end if you’re caught.

collect map tiles to chart your path through the liar's maze while simultaneously dodging your way through a web of increasingly menacing angelic foes; think on your feet and make your own luck from the draw to score record times, or plow ahead cautiously taking down each stage as it comes. collect powerups, study patterns of movement, die endlessly—and come back each time ready for more. test your wits with a unique 'dodging only' mechanic through a stark hand-drawn world, overcoming 18 grueling untruths to nerve-wracking electronic blast beats.
you know in old cartoons when the train tracks suddenly end and the character has to start nailing boards down ahead of them at lightning speed as they hurtle along?
you know in games when you die but you know next time you won’t, next time you could be a little faster and a little better, and you see yourself stretch past your limits and discover new ones?
you know in real life when each detail complicates things a little more and you’ve got no choice but to keep digging yourself a deeper hole and hope you’ll reach the other side before it caves in?
…it’s kind of like that. push yourself to the limits, discovering sly secrets and clever complications, and emerge on the far side changed forever. is this easy for you? were you born to do this? do you have what it takes to become the perfect liar?

Really enjoy this! It's a clever roguelike with a very charming art style. The mechanics are really interesting, and get you thinking ahead more than I expected. It's straightforward enough at first, and then things quickly ramp up. Highly recommend you check it out.
Yo this game is good. The game loop is short and tight and addictive. I love the art and the weirdo music haha. It's HARD though, or I suck at it, but I will prevail
I played this game at a convention and absolutely loved it. Immediately bought it when it was fully released. It’s a really fun puzzle game with a quirky art style and a bit of horror-esc themes. The music is solid. I would listen to it on its own.

I randomly stumbled across the game and I highly recommend it! It's the perfect mix of challenging and rewarding where you collect tiles you then have to lay down. So it feels like a mix of a roguelite with puzzle elements. It also means that every time you play is a unique experience. Plus the artwork style is very distinctive.
Devilishly difficult little game. Managed to master act 1 with the coveted "no-stars" run-through. I'll be slowly looking to get some worthy times up soon. Music and art are absolutely top notch.
Perfect Liar brings freshness to frantic games with its strategic map creation mechanic. The music is perfect for the game, and the artwork is deliciously wicked. Beautiful Chaos in a bottle. Go play it!
I played this at a convention a couple months ago and knew I had to pick it up after full release. It's a good, hectic time!
so fast....very addicting, the art is so good and the music is really cool..i love misleading....
Honestly, if there's one thing this game has taught me it's that lying is fun! ...and I'm bad at it. The thousand screams of goodwill chasing you down, as navigate an endlessly complicated maze of lies, definitely adds to the vibe.
a frantic and stylish "juke em up" that plays great on Steam Deck! Its a hard, but fair, game that'll give you that "one more try" feeling!
