Information / Review English
Pegasus Broken Wings is a cyberpunk adventure game developed by Astronomic Games.
Gameplay / Story
Everyday crime has become part of everyday life and hardly a day goes by where there are no crimes, whether minor offenses or even murder. Your task is to experience a non-linear story, solving different puzzles, which are easier and then again turn out to be heavier and in between you arrange to meet the various girls to relax. Romantic interests are very diverse and integrative. You have men and women, straight and others, colored people, the disabled and even a robot - if you have love for a sentient home appliance. The backgrounds and characters are detailed into the game and the mood of the near future has been well captured. The whole thing is accompanied by relaxed music. In other moments it changes and sounds like retro style, which rounds off the whole thing.
Pro
+ great science fiction adventures + Characters with depth + Dating elements + Puzzles that make sense + great background music alternating with retro music + several dialog options + Control well integrated + Achievements
Contra
- Everything seems monotonous quickly
Conclusion
Pegasus Broken Wings offers you an excitingly staged story in the distant future, which also brings dating elements to relaxation and thus shows variety.
Gameplay / Geschichte
▶️Introduction
Pegasus: Broken Wings is a cyberpunk adventure game that takes place in a politically corrupt cyberpunk city. Pegasus -5: Gone Astray is the prequel. Broken Wings is the follow up of the previous game and requires you to have some previous knowledge of the plot.
Pros 👍 and Cons 👎

[th]👍Positive aspects[/th] [th]👎Negative aspects[/th]
Improved visuals to its predecessor. Some old characters have very little screen-time due to the plot.

Cutscenes and overall cinematics improved a lot. Perks don’t play much of a role now.

Multiple endings and some tough decisions

Very memorable characters.

This review contains no spoilers.
This is my first time playing RPG Maker games, and I was blown away!
🎮Gameplay
Considering that this is a simple RPG Maker game developed by a small Indie studio I will have to say that this is a rather minimalistic experience, in a good way obviously! Roaming around the world is what you’re going to do the most throughout your adventure. Searching for useful items in order to solve puzzles or take care of some opponents is the most action-packed task you’re going to have to complete. Some new and pretty good features are the following ones: You can play with two characters now rather than one! This allows you to get an even better understanding of the story as you can see things get unravelled from two perspectives. The dialogues got further improved as well, you get a lot more options when being asked upon whom to bring, or what to do. https://youtu.be/gWC7z-7o36g The map design has improved a lot more. I found myself wandering around the map, and just exploring trying to find clues and so on. Lastly, the most important addition is the “autosave” feature. After completing a chapter the game will ask you if you would like to save your progress. It was frustrating making a bad decision and then seeing that your latest save was 2 chapters ago in the previous game. This makes the game so much more relaxing! On the other hand, there were some shortcomings. In the previous game, you were earning skill points which you could use on certain abilities like technology, charisma, medicine and athleticism. Now you can only choose two out of the four abilities for each playable character which feels a little questionable and a little too simplified. These were all of my opinions as far as the gameplay goes. Overall it feels a lot more polished compared to the predecessor.
🎭Story
No spoilers ahead! As mentioned on the store page the game focused a lot on politically driven subjects as well as equality and truth, which can be connected to the happenings since 2020 perhaps. Jokes aside, the entire plot feels so much more unique compared to the previous game which felt just like another cyberpunk adventure story. You can do a lot more activities now with all of the characters, especially the female ones. The new art style probably adds to the experience, you get new 3D models in the cutscenes. Characters are extremely memorable as well and you can understand each and everyone’s thoughts and ideas. One small issue I got with the story and all is the fact that two very important characters in the previous gameplay a rather minor role now which is a little disappointing as you get familiar with the characters. Other than that you will get a good three to four hours with each game. Don’t forget that there are multiple endings which is a huge plus for replayability.
🌇Graphics / Audio
The game makes use of the RPG Maker engine. [*] Graphics The game is a simple 2D game so there isn’t much to report on. The main improvements were the 3D models and the redesign of some characters. Some motion scenes were added as well, in particular chase scenes with a lot of explosions and other effects. Still, it is almost the same experience visually. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2627665052 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2627664941 [*] Audio / Soundtrack The game offers a decent soundtrack with music that matches the situation. There isn’t something amazing about it but I surely enjoy a well-crafted soundtrack. Background noises add to the ambience although sometimes the game can be quiet when walking around.

⚙️Performance
In Game [*]AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 32GB Ram, Nvidia RTX 2070S: I was running the game on Maxed out settings at 1080p at around 60fps. [*]In detail Average framerate: 60.1 FPS Minimum framerate: 60.0 FPS Maximum framerate:60.1 FPS [*] Bugs / Glitches / Crashes In 6 hours of trying to choose which one is going to be my wife in the story, I experienced no bugs, glitches or crashes at all. I used an Xbox Controller and had absolutely no issues at all.

⚖️Conclusion
Pegasus: Broken Wings is definitely an improvement over the previous Pegasus game. I was never really that interested in RPG Maker games, but after playing the Pegasus games and in particular Broken Wings, I had a very good experience. The story was keeping you entertained, waiting for what is going to unfold next, who is behind all this and more. The dialogue really feels as it got meaning behind it, as every option opens up a different path, exploration improved a lot compared to Pegasus-5: Gone Astray. I can only recommend this game for the price being simply because I have already spent more hours with the game than it actually costs which is always a plus for me. I played twice with it. So for those who insist this part of the review included, up, left, right down arrows Enter and ESC controls and there you have it good. The dev there got out of the classical soft 2D look toward a more 3D cold aesthetic where he both had more control and ownership of his characters and action. Since what happens globally, I guess it was his best bet to narrate a very complex story that casts an interesting foreshadowing into the future of our freedom, privacy and how much a government can use external events to their advantage to lock down a society and turn politics into plain accepted tyranny. It does into the same charms of the Incitement series, City of Chains and Outrage but in the Pegasus-5 mature universe. You got to check upon the morale of your crew members and have the option to romance most of them very inclusively, but without artificially changing them into your own likings and orientations, which makes them pretty realistic in the versimilitude of the game universe. I was playing in parallel with a triple A game and despite all the grandiose work and long run of their team and development money, I got twice in one hour (even 3 times) getting the game making my character do what the character would never do. So despite having a story on rail here, two runs made me feel both in Edan and Ethyra's skins and nothing getting opposite to my expectations there despite the rails. I surprised myself describing Pegasus, Broken Wings on chat to someone as some visual novel spiked on the Mandela effect. It is engaging, eerie and romantic and the Daz made characters shows a learning curve in their posing execution, but be patient; the Dev really got there in the end and action parts. This dev always had his strenght into narration and is good to turn on the theatre of our minds anyways. Oh another thing; the music is very good and well placed. I was alterning playing different games recently and managed to listen podcasts as I played. When I cycled to Pegasus Broken Wings I had no choices but shut up podcasts. That is how much it drawn me into the game and gripped me in there. Also mention to the interface of this game compared to a previous one of this dev, it improved. If you are curious; I had a problem with a blue circle as a queue to go to next line in a previous game and this one I really knew by the arrow down it meant MORE and not WAIT WINDOWS IS LOADING. Overall, I really think this deserves a play. Your companions will be either helpful or depressed or REALLY useful or helpless along the story and this helps even more feeling a taste of that universe.
Welcome to low res dating in a sci fi dystopia. The controls are simple enough and the characters are...well they are there for banging purposes. A lack of full screen options seems weird in 2021. The gameplay is mostly narrative choices but there is a lot of space between those choices. It is not terrible at the price but there are surely better options. The graphics look kind of terrible. :( Thumbs sideways is my choice here. https://youtu.be/Tlx2YDMK1Q0
i don't know where to start...the story felt off. if you played the first one its short, but fun. PBW didn't carryover any of the choices from the first like snares of ruin did with the second part. I played the first one so many times just to get different endings & had fun doing it. with PBW i don't feel like I need a second play through. The only carryover you get is a relationship & what you did with the bad guy from the first, but nothing on what of might have happened to the crew from the first game. I don't know how i can put this any other way... it felt like it had less life in it from the first. the song is a mix at best don't care for the singer. the art work is a nice update not that the old art work was bad either. the story felt week & too short to split between two different characters. I missed the first games point system & the vending machine. Believe it or not I clicked on each one I came across for nostalgic purposes hoping one of them would dispense a drink :). Also why even keep a point tally if you never were meant to get more points? was there more to this story that got cut out? I'll continue to support theses games just hope the writing is better on the next one if the cliff hanger is true even thought i didn't let him "Go" in the first one. can't say I recommend this one, but to support the creator/s I would say pick it up.
I've been a fan of Gastronomic Games for years and got a complimentary key for being a playtester of an early build. This means my actual playtime is way above what is stated on Steam right now. This also means you should take my review with a grain of salt :) Broken Wings is carefully built on the foundation of Snares of Ruins and Pegasus games. The formula is largely the same - experience a non-linear-ish story, solve the mystery, date the girls. The girls are indeed a thing of beauty this time round - with a lot of beautiful models and scenes crafted with the help of Daz 3D. This allows to supply a lot of romantic / intimate scenes of high quality. In terms of romantic content, Broken Wings is getting pretty close to dedicated visual novels - at least, the inspiration is clearly there. There are more dates and interactions than any of the dev's previous titles. Romantic interests are very diverse and inclusive - you have males and females, straight and otherwise, people of colour, disabled individuals, and even a robot - if making love to a sentient domestic appliance is your thing. The story is very Deus-Ex'y and explores themes such as totalitarianism, power abuse of transnational entities, police brutality, discrimination, activism, economic aid to businesses in times of lockdown and so on and so forth - you'll find it very relatable if you haven't lived under a rock for the past couple of years. As for the criticism - I didn't find the story as compelling this time round, possibly because the storytelling is getting old after Pegasus: Gone Astray and several Snares of Ruin games. For me each story segment often felt like a chore I have to get through in order to reach the next date or relationship segment. This also highlights my second issue - RPG Maker is dated and can only offer so much in terms of gameplay and graphics. This becomes even more prominent with the introduction of Daz assets - story and romantic content now feel too different in quality, like they belong in two different games. Also, at times I got the feeling the development was spread too thin - there are many choices, concepts (ex. team morals or police suspicion) and romantic interests - but there was no time or place for an in-depth exploration of many of them. As such, some of your choices might feel irrelevant or lackluster, some of the romance dialogue might feel samey etc. All in all, I had a good time with this one and can recommend this for purchase for the romantic content alone. P.S. Ilana best girl <3
RPG Maker strikes again! Pegasus: Broken Wings is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. Unlike most RPG Maker games, instead of asset flipping the usual Final Fantasy ripoff tilesets for this high school anime club fan fiction, they've instead asset flipped the sci-fi "cyberpunk" tilesets and assets. What a time to be alive... but wait, there's more, the developer threw in a few static images rendered using the same low quality modelling app that gets used to make all those cheap nasty porno games glutting the rear end of the Steam Marketplace (check out the DailyIndieGame/exosyphen hentai games to see the exact same "art", or better yet, don't). There's a pretty awful fanfiction with a cyberpunk theme as you solve crime, fight the bad guys and try to date the developers various fanfiction waifus. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 5 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. It's also important to note the "developer" here has connections to a number of shady Russian asset flippers and review manipulators (New Reality Games, Mihai Morosanu) who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers with fake reviews and asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk. Pegasus: Broken Wings has the ridiculous, laughable price of around $7 USD (for an RPG Maker asset flip!), it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product. Gamers who want a good retro JRPG experience would be better off playing the originals, like Final Fantasy, Star Ocean or Chrono Trigger.
Profile Features Limited!
Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.

Excellent game ! The plot is much interesting than in the previous one and the new 3D characters are nice. The leveling system is no longer here, you choose your specialities at the beginning and that's all, which is a good thing actually. A very good surprise.
I'e played the other games by this dev like Pegasus and Snares of Ruin and liked them, but this was a massive disappointment. I feel like the entire development time went into the art, as the rest of the game is awful. The plot is all over the place, and unlike their other games what skills you pick at start is it. You never learn any new skills or improve. Though it hardly matters as you will use your skills like 4 times max all game anyways. Hopefully going forward the dev focuses on making a good game like their earlier ones and not put all the effort and work into the art for the cutsenes, as when you do that all you end up with is a shiny turd in the end.
