Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
One fine day, in a remote island community off the coast of Maine, nine cats wake up to discover that their humans have disappeared. To survive, they must band together to uncover the mysteries of their storied island home - and ultimately, it is up to them to decide:
Are the humans worth bringing back?

- Explore a truly open world - The entirety of the island will be accessible, with each building containing a hand-crafted interior. No "Invisible Walls," or buildings with no purpose.
- A realistic weather & tidal system - From foggy nights, to morning downpours, to clear, blue skies - you never know what those southeast winds might bring in - and you'll never want to miss a beautiful sunset!
- Nine Playable Cats - Each with their own stories, preferences, skills, & weaknesses - as you get to know them, you'll know which one might be the best for a certain job!
- A commitment to using only HUMAN-MADE content - We want to provide our players with a human-made experience, from beginning to end!

- Delve into a rich, 200-year alternate history - Learn family lineages, study old maps, and read books & letters better left hidden.
- Your decisions matter! - How you approach life after humanity will decide how the game plays out in the end.
- Replayability - Three different possible endings (and perhaps more!)

- Experience a hand-crafted world - From the very beginning, we strove to create a world that isn't just "that place between mission points." The island might be small, but there is a LOT to discover and re-discover!
- Original, adaptive soundtrack - From the mood of the cats, to the time of day, to the weather, the soundtrack changes. Each player's musical experience will be different!
- An expanded emotional palette - Games are a wonderful storytelling - and all stories are not happy ones.

- Relax! - Sometimes, you just want to hang out with the cats and watch the sun set. A mix of casual/slow gaming.
- Meet new friends - and new enemies! - The humans might be gone, but old power structures remain. Currying favor with the deer might make the Seagulls less willing to talk!

Peace Island began in November of 2017, when a Eric (a line cook) and Laura (a care worker) noticed a severe lack of rich, single-player, story-driven experiences in a game world where the major publishers were intent on developing the next open-world shooter.
They knew it wasn't going to be easy - developing a video game of this size typically requires dozens of people and significant funding. They just had themselves, and whatever pocket change they could set aside after bills and rent. They worked on the project in whatever few hours they could set aside outside of their sleep and regular jobs.

The world took shape, slowly but steadily. Occasionally, they could convince a friend to donate a piece of artwork, or save enough to hire a coder for an hour or two to help build the first, simple systems.
From the very start, emphasis was put on crafting a beautiful world- one that would not simply serve as "that space between one destination and another," but as a place the player wants to linger in for just perhaps one more sunset.

After two years of slow but steady progress, Peace Island "went viral" in the fall of 2019, finally allowing the project to expand beyond a single bedroom, an outdated computer, and a few notebooks.

Since then, the Peace Island project has expanded to include a a core team of 7, and an expanded talent pool of over 40 creatives from around the world.
As we enter the fist days of our fifth year of development, we are more excited than ever to share the world & story of Peace Island.
OUR COMMITMENT, REGARDING GENERATIVE AI CONTENT:
Simply put: We don't like it. As of now, there are 3 or fewer possible artifact textures/bitmaps within Peace Island that are of AI origin, out of the approximately 3,500 currently used within the game - these are methodically being removed, and replaced with 100% verified human content.
We apologize for this oversight, and sincerely regret any confusion this might have caused, as most of this remaining questionable content was procured from third-party sources, and not properly reviewed before use.

I hate to do this because I like the idea of this game and really want to give it time to fix all the bugs and whatnot. I know a game can have bugs and if devs are working on it actively I don't think it's right to chastise them. However, the controller compatibility is almost nonexistent on here. It's not hard to code in controller compatibility so it just feels like it wasn't a priority in this game. Technically it exists but the current controller compatibility is actually worse than when you just force steam to make a game controller compatible. It takes like an entire minute to turn your camera even slightly, which is ridiculous in a 3rd person (or 3rd cat, ig) game. I've commented multiple times on the updates on the steam page requesting compatibility and no one's replied to me or even acknowledged me so its safe to say devs don't look at the comments on updates. I also asked on reddit, which got no answer so it seems the reddit is dead. I don't know what else to do because I can't find a discord link for this game. But I hope they fix the controller compatibility eventually so I can actually sit down and try to enjoy this game.
I've been following the development of this game for a few years now, and seen it gone from very early alpha testing to its current form. There's still a way to go for it to be fully developed, but I love the ambience and I love just exploring the island as a cat. This is a game for those who love quiet exploration and puzzle solving. I look forward to each new iteration as it improves and expands.

Give this game a hand! People are giving negative reviews for no reason! The developers are on Discord, responding to all reports of bugs and glitches, common errors in a game under development, and are fixing these problems that we forward to them. There is no reason to give negative reviews the way they are doing. I bought this game because I love cats and I was moved by the story of their kitten that was immortalized as a "playable cat". In addition to a desire of the developers, Eric Blumrich and Laura Mackey, to create a "cozy game" experience focused on exploration and story, instead of combat.
i love this game its so wonderful fantastic and absolutely amazing game but theres 2 things its glitching and it doesn't run smoothly on my mac
Wait if you wish, but like any indie dev, they will have lots of work on their hands. you need to understand he is doing his best. A master piece will not happen overnight, hell not even in 2 years. but it will get done. If you were not there when he first started, you would not understand. This man did and does lots to try and satisfy all our requests in a lore accurate manor. Be patient and thank the devs for doing a great job.
beta-not finished - keep going
An adorable game so far, with a lot of potential. It's nice to be a cat, and wander the peaceful landscape.
Peace Island is still rough, but there's so much love and detail in the output that it's hard to be mad at it for its imperfections. The biggest thing I have to ask for is an expanded set of key binding options. I'm left handed and locking movement to WASD is extremely uncomfortable for me.
It’s a fun little world to explore that’s made with care from a small studio. It’s still in early release and they are very receptive to any bug reports and are active on their discord server! It’s got a bright future ahead of it
