About
Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the Roman Empire and build your own ancient metropolis! Pax Augusta is probably the most authentic city-building simulation set in the ancient world and puts you in the role of an ambitious governor who builds new cities along the Roman borders.
While Emperor Augustus expands the borders of the empire, capable governors are sought to found new cities in order to consolidate the Roman claim to the newly conquered land. You build a small settlement along a newly constructed imperial road. You attract new inhabitants to the city by building a harbor and a forum.
As your tax revenue increases, you start to mine raw materials and construct new buildings to meet the needs of the population. Baths, theaters, gladiator schools, slave markets, and more serve not only to keep your inhabitants entertained, but also to provide them with work.
Build impressive city districts, ensure the well-being of your citizens, engage in flourishing trade and erect magnificent monuments that will last for centuries. But the road to the top is full of challenges - fire, corruption, unrest and the whims of the emperor will put your leadership skills to the test time and again.
As a skillful governor, you will quickly attract the attention of the senate or the emperor. Increase your reputation enough and you can found new settlements. As you increase your private fortune, you will eventually be able to afford to apply for new offices. This gives you the opportunity to build monuments and unlock new building sites.
Will you become a skillful administrator and make your city flourish? Or will you fail and be deposed by the Senate?
Your skill will decide your fate in the most powerful empire of the ancient world!

Reviews
After a very promising start, nothing really happens anymore. The game isn’t finished and as far as I know there has been silence since October last year. Might change this review at some point, since I see a ton of potential.
Its been almost a year with almost no major updates, nothing stated or posted from the developer and no road map for whats next. I understand its a smaller operation, but this game just doesnt deliver on the potential it has. Maps are overly constrained and gameplay gets boring after a few playthroughs. If you want a decent Roman City builder that will be updated for years to come, save your money and buy ANNO 117. I hope Pax Augusta does change, but also I have little hope.
An impressive Ancient Roman city builder with humble Unity visuals, a reasonably approachable economy, pleasant music, and a surprising variety of different sprites for buildings. I can see the scaffolding for an extraordinary game in Pax Augusta. Unfortunately, she's in some rough shape. I can forgive the unforgiving construction system which refunds neither money nor materials after demolishing a building (it's okay - just never make mistakes I suppose), but I ran into some gamebreaking bugs on more than one occasion. If the dev finishes this game it could be a unique and welcome addition to the genre, but Pax Augusta is clearly not ready for public yet.
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNTIL IT IS FIXED!!! THE GAME CONSTANTLY CRASHES, AND WHEN IT DOES IT DOESN'T SAVE YOUR GAME!!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK...
The game is good. If you like city builders and you like the ancient Rome setting then you'll love this game. The only the reason I can't recomend this game is because your cities will be deleted for no reason. Its a crazy bug, but based on what I've seen online, I'm not the only one experieincing this. If this bug gets fixed then I could recomend the game, but I've lost hours building a city only to have it deleted.
Game has terminal bugs. At some part of the campaign, the mission starting script just doesn't load and the only option is to restart campaign. Waste of time and energy. Otherwise good :D
Very basic game. Compared to this even Caesar 3 will look advanced :-)
DO NOT BUY!!! There has not been an update since Okt 16th 2025, No communication with the community. I am pretty sure he abonden the game.... it had potential but I guess not another EA scam as in its current state this is not a complete game... even though he 1.0 released this mess it really was a EA release I guess lying is now a thing thats accepted on steam. Steam should step in an froce a refund this is insane behaviour the game is buggy broken and unupdated for almost a year. I have been waiting for updates to QoL and bugs so I could give it another go but no. Roger pretended to listen for the first 6months (game came out april 17th literally dead on 6months he ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off) then he abondoned ship. If I ever see this dev name on another game it is an instant no go for me going forward.
Eher ein Hobbyprojekt als ein ernstzunehmendes Unterhaltungsmedium - lächerlich hoher Preis für ein Spiel diesen Formats - habe es zurück erstatten lassen
An enjoyably tricky game compared to most city builders where you can sort of suss out the ideal way to play very quickly, it suffers from being in unity and there are lots of little quality of life things that need ironing out but im enjoying the sim aspect of it a lot.
