This is a really cute and easy word game where you need to find the word that matches the picture on the left. The word puzzles are really easy and if English is your first or second language you will not need any help to complete the puzzles. It takes approximately 30 minutes to finish all 100 levels and unlock all the achievements.
Cute fun little game that is just spelling and using all the letters the board gives you. Would be fun to play with a kid to help with spelling. Easy achievements.
Pathfinders: Mini Words is more asset flip type shovelware from the serial copy + paste plagiarists at Mens Sana Interactive. This time they've taken the work of others and slapped together a basic word game (near identical to their other Mini Words games) that looks like it's intended to be a mobile app, but they dumped it on Steam instead. The game contains stock/store assets and other packages (specifically artwork from actual artist, Sergei Gorshkov who sells his work on the Unity Asset store), but the "developer" here hasn't credited the people who actually did the work for the game. While this isn't necessarily against the license for the use of those assets, claiming the work of others as your own is highly unethical. Gamers should be made aware when a developer behaves unethically, as buying games from unethical developers puts the gamers money at risk. Mens Sana Interactive have a known history of trying to scam people into paying them money for someone else's work. An example of Mens Sana Interactive doing this is My Little Prince - a jigsaw puzzle tale, which is really "Jigsaw Puzzle Creator Kit", written by the actual developers, Allebi. Also, Lucky and a Life Worth Living, which is really "Jigsaw Puzzle Creator Kit", developed by Allebi. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game features extremely lazy, minimalist "art", of the type you normally expect to see in low effort Flash/browser games and mobile apps. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't able to find it on the app stores. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes this is a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. There's also a number of suspicious reviews that all showed up on day #1 as direct purchasers of the game, all gushing about how good it is in broken English... positive reviews for this game should be taken with a grain of salt due to the possibility of review manipulation. Pathfinders: Mini Words is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. Don't reward unethical developers or risk your money buying their products. Stay safe out there.
For a spelling game its straight forward and good to play with a kid or adult learning about english. there was a bug I did experience where two, Letters would be placed instead of one, after clicking the menu during gameplay, happened twice. Only fix was to reboot the game. other than that good little educational game.
This game isn't intended for adults, but you can have fun making the text to speech system say things like "beetle milk" and "pocket pasta." I ran into one small bug on level 51 where it would duplicate all the letters, so it would read sshhoowweerr and not accept that as an answer. Resetting the game fixed that. If you're looking for a real challenge the other Mini Words games are much better for that, but this isn't bad to kill a half hour or so.
