About

Path to Serenity is a cozy walking simulator that takes players on a heartfelt journey in the shoes of Jim, a man torn between career ambitions and the family he’s drifting away from. As the pressures of work mount, he realises he’s losing more than he’s gaining. Guided by his aunt Didi’s advice, an unexpected trip leads him to her cabin—where he may finally rediscover the path he was meant to follow.

In this mode, you can simply explore the forest level at your own pace, taking in the ambient sounds and calming music. Wander through the areas Jim once explored, now quiet and peaceful. There are no objectives—just walking, unwinding, and enjoying the atmosphere.
I hope this mode offers you a happy place to relax and recharge.
Overall objective & length:
Path to Serenity is a short, calming experience with no dangers, timers, or difficulty. Players can explore at their own pace, guiding Jim on his journey of self-discovery.
The game is approximately one hour long and can be completed in a single sitting or at a relaxed pace over time. With soothing music, nice crafted levels, ambient soundscapes, and peaceful areas to pause and reflect, both Jim and players can find a sense of calm.
Storytelling through colour:
The story unfolds through colour, reflecting Jim’s emotions—melancholic blues at home, dull grays in his joyless office, and increasingly vibrant tones as he embraces a new path in the forest.
Story Progression & Interaction:
Players help Jim by completing simple tasks like making lunch, doing chores, and interacting with colleagues. The story is further enriched through interactive elements scattered throughout the world, as well as dialogue with NPCs.

This game actually surprises me! Though at first I thought the graphic is quite simple, the story is actually kinda heart-warming. The concept of circling around inside the forest depicted what actually happened "inside" Jim (and his family condition). This psychological adventure with its positive psychological message in the game reminds me of the psychological novels I used to review back in college and it somehow covered me up in warmth of memories. I love "psychology", I love positive messages in every stories (games or novels or arts)! Though I think it could go much farther with some corrections : 1. dialog kinda too fast for me (English is not my mother language, so some gamer might need some extra time to read and digest the words) 2. some dialog triggered a couple of time when I pass on some points/locations. Despite all of that, this is a good game. Thank you so much, Dev, for giving me the opportunity to play this game for free. Keep up the good work!
Played & recorded the demo version of this game and had a lot of fun! Here is a link to the video: https://youtu.be/MilTtmc8KQo
this game is really interesting and also relaxing despite the sort of heavy-ish vibes. it feels like life, if that makes sense? but there's hope there.
I like the sentiment of this game. The message is pretty clear and simple and that is good. With a playtime of under 1 hour, the price of around 4€ is alright too, but once you played through there isn't really much to do anymore. It's created by single dev, so the few bugs i encountered, i could forgive. I still hope the dev does a lot of refining of characters, scenes and level design, but overall it was a positive experience. You can watch my playthrough here: https://youtu.be/WEL12kE1IXU
A pleasure to play despite small imperfections, and a heartwarming reminder of what's truly important in life. Highly recommend! https://thenerdytype.com/2025/06/25/path-to-serenity-a-reminder-of-whats-truly-important/
If you would like a little break from your stressed induced Souls-like games or Battle Royale type games, then Path to Serenity is right for you. This calm walking sim can be completed in about an hour with two modes of play existing in the main story mode or relaxation mode. You control the protagonist Jim who is struggling with a soul crushing job that is creating a rift with both his family and personal goals. Through a journey of introspection and nostalgia, you will help Jim to rekindle the joy he once had in his life. The small voice clips of Jim are a nice addition and it is quite impressive how a solo developer was able to create this world without additional assistance. The creator’s mission to donate $0.10 of every sale on Steam, Itch, and Humble to the charity Safe in Our World (The Video Games Mental Health Charity) is another heart warming aspect of this cozy walking sim. I am the Midwest Game Guy and I approve this message! TL;DR Beautiful, calming visuals and sound design. Intuitive, gentle pacing ideal for stress relief. Meaningful symbolism through color and quiet moments. Developer’s charity partnership adds depth to the intent.
A flawed but beautiful experience. I enjoyed the journey, but experienced a couple of bugs along he way. With a little more polish this would be a lovely short experience. At the last area I got a bit lost, but then as I explored I realised being lost, left to explore is entirely the point. And that is the best part of the game, when it asks you to find your own meaning.
