Paranormal Snap Shot

What a fun experience! I really enjoyed this. If you enjoy games like Exit 8 and Shinkansen, definitely give this game a try. through my hour of playing it i didn't run across any bugs or problems in the game. i felt like the developer had a plan and executed it perfectly. Though i wish there were setting to turn off head-bobbling , in all i think this game really hits its mark for how simple it is. The eerie Japanese school setting, the different anomalies which some had some spine chilling moments that gave me goosebumps, and the facepalm moments where you think you did everything right. great job again.

[h1] A super refreshing entry to the observation genre! [/h1] The camera "Snapshot" Mechanic with the flash in the dark is genius and something I've never seen before. The anomalies have a really good balance of funny, scary and outright difficult scenarios and I get the urge to see them all! Combined with the eerie atmosphere you get a game that is really fun and difficult to put down. The possibilities to what can be added to this feel endless and I'm really excited to see how far this goes! I would 100% recommend this game if you are into already into observation games and if you are not; this is a great place to start ;)

Paranormal Snapshot ended up being more fun than my initial complaining would suggest. Is it a perfect anomaly finder? No — not really. Compared to some of the more polished entries in the genre, it does feel a bit dated in places. That said, it is still enjoyable, and the core idea works. My biggest issue is that some of the anomalies are too subtle. There were multiple moments where I genuinely couldn’t see anything wrong, took a random snapshot out of frustration, and somehow… found an anomaly anyway. I won’t lie — I absolutely took that cheese and ran straight for the stairway when it happened. That kind of trial-and-error success can feel a bit unsatisfying, especially when you’re actively scanning the environment and still coming up empty. And yes… I probably said “What did I miss?!” more in this Let’s Play than in any other anomaly finder I’ve ever played. That said, the game isn’t bad. It just didn’t knock my socks off either. I can see it opening up more once the second room comes into play, and I imagine that added complexity helps the experience overall. In the end, I’d give Paranormal Snapshot a 5 out of 10 — solidly middle of the road. Not amazing, not terrible, but still a decent time if you enjoy the genre and don’t mind a bit of frustration along the way. UPDATE! I played the game on Hard mode and opening up the second room with the same stress of a time limmit added a little extra to the game that I felt I needed to revise my rating. I feel pretty comfortable changing that to a 6 out of 10. A lot of my core thoughts on the game are still the same, but Hard Mode added a little extra that I feel normal mode is missing.

To clarify I'm horrible with horror games and so i chickened out before i had completed my first hour of gameplay, that said looking at this from a viewpoint which isn't affected by my chickeness*, i can see the appeal of the game who are less of a chicken than me. I like camera mechanic, it feels like a step up from a basic spot the difference and the vibe was on point. If i had to make a complaint about the game, if you take a picture of an anomaly when your camera doesn't have the glitch effect it doesn't remove the anomaly, it seems like its proximity based. Despite this it didn't really take away from experience since all i had to was walk a bit closer to take a picture of the anomaly. Overall from what little i did play it was pretty good.

Never played an observation game before and thought I'd try this one. And what a great choice it was! Couldn't recommend this one more!
