If you like Phasmo and Observation Duty, you'll probably like this game. Given the price tag, I figured I'd give it a shot. Booting it up, I found my game kept crashing on me. Figured out I needed to have my mic plugged in by looking at the discussion page, did that and the game runs smoothly now. Played a few rounds on amateur and though those levels are super easy and kind of boring, they are def chill to play. Moving up is where the challenges start and it gets harder. Currently the game does NOT have a tutorial or death animations that I have seen and I'd like to see both in the game one day, but the game IS fun and for the price tag, it's worth it for sure.
Interesting game, scares me even though it is a simple game.
I've wanted a ghost hunting sim that combines the suspense of camera watching, evidence gathering and with the real and present danger of being hunted while you're distracted by the cameras. Paranormal Observation delivers a truly chilling immersive experience, this is definitely my number one pick for gaming and streaming horror right now! Kudos devs!
I really like this game but there are a few things that i dont quite like or understand. First of all I dont really undestand how "Shadow person" works. I know that whenever he knocks that you shoudnt look at the door and i know that he can open the door but i dont know what exactly i shoudl do when he knocks. Should i treat it like a hunt and shut off the power and hide? (since thats what i have been doing) Or should you just ignore it? Another thing i thought to be wierd is that "shadow person" attacks waaaay more often than the ghost. I have been killed by shadow person way more than the ghost. I really like all the mechanics and im just waiting for more updates. This game has a lot of potential. I wish there would be more maps, more mechanics and more different interactions with the ghost and also more upgrades. At the moment it doesnt feel like that there is anything at stake maybe something in that direction can be added. I would love it if there were different interactions with the ghost other than just the hunts. Like a hallucination event that gets triggered when a new ventilation system fails that just completely messes with your perception of the footage would be awesome. with the (hopefully) comming updates ill continue to give feedback since i really really like this game. Keep up the good work :DDD
if you're a fan of phasmophobia, i'm on observation duty or even fnaf (the older games anyway) then you'll find something to enjoy here. that said, despite this game's namesake, it doesn't feel quite like observation duty. the elements are there, but they lend more to the ghost hunting and fnaf style of gameplay. and i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love it. i'll break it down for players coming from each of the 3 games i mentioned. if you're coming from phasmophobia, you may notice some similar ghost names. the ghost hunts based on your sanity level, which you can't see at first. you have to buy the ability to monitor your sanity, as well as other upgrades, all with earned in game money. take photos of UV evidence, ghost orbs, the ghost walking through DOTS (called laser in this game) and evidence of a murder. this is kinda like bone evidence. it's a bit harder to find sometimes though. not always. but once you learn the locations, it's easy to either spot or narrow down. also, instead of 3 evidences, you have to find 5. some work similarly to phasmo, some don't. and there's one evidence type phasmo doesn't have. throwing. yup. if a ghost is throwing objects around, that's an evidence! also, the ghost tends to change rooms rather frequently in this game, even on the easiest difficulty. that's not nearly as big of a problem as it is in phasmo though. after you play a few missions, you'll understand why. honestly, it helps the ghost feel more organic. oh. right. you can exorcise the ghost in this game. you just have to make sure you've identified the ghost, and then make sure it's in the same room you perform the exorcism in. if you fail, you can try again, but there's a significant cooldown. you can also prevent hunts, quite easily. just, keep the candle on the desk lit. matches aren't super expensive. now onto observation duty. coming from that game, this one lends itself more to the 5th game and beyond, as you're just looking for ghost evidence and noting it down, not so much reporting it. probably the closest thing to reporting in this game is exorcising the ghost, or taking pictures. also resetting the power if you have a camera malfunction. not much to say here that isn't covered in other areas. coming from fnaf, you'll feel right at home behind your desk. keep your door closed at all times, and remember to exit the cameras to make sure it's still closed. if you hear knocking or you're alerted that a hunt has started, exit the cams quick and get under your desk! much like the animatronics from fnaf, the ghost will shift from room to room, leaving evidence only in the room it's currently in. except for maybe voice evidence. it seems to be able to give that from any room. i could be mistaken about that though. so keep on the ghost's tail, get that evidence and... maintain your sanity! while you don't have limited power in this game, you DO have a sanity meter. you don't die when it runs out, but the lower it is, the closer you get to being hunted. similarly to fnaf (and phasmophobia) as your sanity gets lower, the ghost will perform some events. more like fnaf though, these events can't be photographed, and are hallucinations. a good indicator you're about to be hunted if you don't have the sanity monitor yet. so there you have it. i love this game, and it's worth the price. there's several maps (even Chernobyl and the backrooms). and it even has a leaderboard.
A really good ghost hunting game that should be talked about more! From my first playthrough of all the maps I didn't see a single bug which is always a plus. A really cohesive gameplay loop as well, and it's genuinely scary when you're sitting in silence and hear someone knocking on the door right next to you. I'm excited to see the new maps that get added as well as some more random events. One thing I'd be interested to see is more ghost models to add a bit more randomness but it's not a necessity. I hope that this game eventually gets the popularity it deserves!
Mais um jogo de observar anomalias, jogabilidade boa como deve ser, esse porém está mais parecido com um Phasmofobia individual. Mas é um bom jogo.
Great unique approach to ghost hunting. Everything done remotely from nerve center. If you want something a little different in ghost hunting... this is it.
For a game being simple, it is fun and immersive to play. You don't get much from the easier difficulties, but once you go into professional and nightmare, then it starts to get fun, but that's because I enjoy difficulty in horror games. When I had my first interaction with the shadow entity, I can't say I didn't get spooked. The jumpscares of this game are more goofy than they are scary, but I still feel like they add a nice touch. I appreciate that the shadow sporadically appears on your cameras and that, sometimes, you can see a never-before-seen entity on a few maps. I also feel that Platuro, the developer of this game, executed the concept of observing a ghost through cameras and identifying them from there fairly well. One of the main reasons why I got this game was because Platuro listens to his community and isn't completely inactive. I am positive that this game will have more fun additions and surprises in future updates!
