About
Paper Planet is a doodly planet-defender roguelike, with Flash-inspired visuals. Born from a love of my childhood favorite Flash games, and modern roguelikes I've sunk countless hours into, taking the best of both planets. Uh..? of both worlds!
Face down unique enemies, with increasingly difficult behaviors and varied attack patterns as each run progresses. Try out different game modes and challenges. Paper Planet is designed STAY interesting no matter how long you play it! Play with friends in local co-op to really push the limits!
Items BUILT to synergize! Create massive swarms of bee-bullets, walls of electricity, or teleporting rocket bombs! Every item in Paper Planet is made to work with every other item, creating a near infinite number of different combinations to discover!

Showdown against fun and weird Bosses. Learn their distinct personalities before overcoming their specialized combat mechanics. Whether you're chasing a high score, risking it all on an overpowered Cursed Item build, or hunting for new and unexpected item combinations.

Really fun game with very well designed pickable items. Every single run is actually different. If you like brotato or similar games - this can definitely scratch that itch. But, sadly, some achievements are bugged and unobtainable. Also, you need to toggle full item descriptions in the options, othwerwise you'll not know which item does what and what they give to you. Once you unlock the second planet which allows you to fly around the playable area - then this game fully unlocks the real fun ^^ Avoid this game if you are an achievement hunter. It's a cool little game, just a bit unfinished and unpolished in some areas.
the game was pretty fun for the first few hours but it takes way to long to get through most bosses without items even then when you do waves of enemies of to much health to deafeat quickly enough it just gets boring without good items
Paper Planet is a quirky roguelike action game where you defend your planet from waves of enemies using bizarre, buildable weapon combos.
Something about this game rubs me the worng way. Maybe if it wasnt stationary it was more fun. Who knows?! I got it in a Humble Bundle. Can't say I hated the game, it didn't grip me though.

Cool idea, the upgrades have no description tho
-Boss fights are waaay too long. -Bullets can get so big that you see nothing -Replayability seems rather low and dull
I really hate the mechanic of trying to dodge and block bullets while also aiming. It's way too much to focus on when I just want to make crazy builds.
Paper Planet is a wave survival arcade bullet hell/shmup with a difference, the game looks bad on purpose and you control a turret on a planet in the middle of the screen while the enemies come at you from all around (it's been done before, better than this). The monotonous and obsolete concept is spiced up by upgrades after every wave, which add a variety of "wacky" shooter options like shooting giant bee ammunition at the enemies. Whatever. The game "works" and is polished well enough (it would be almost difficult for it not to be given how simplistic it is), but ultimately the developer even admits this is a glorified Flash game that seems designed more for mobile phones than as a fully fledged PC game on Steam. I guess this is the kind of thing that caused Newgrounds to go under. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The artwork here is terrible, it's all just amateurish "My First Wacom Tablet" style drawings used instead professional looking game assets. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can create graphical assets properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low, enough on its own to deter gamers. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The very poor quality of this game puts it squarely on-par with ancient 1990's Flash/Java games, and given it's 2025 (and this was released not so far back in 2023), gamers and the industry expect and deserve better than this kind of low effort shovelware. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 130,000+ games on Steam? Sometimes amateur developers have delusions of grandeur. Paper Planet has the completely unrealistic cash grab price of $15 USD (FIFTEEN BUCKS FOR A FLASH GAME WTF... delusion!), for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. This is overpriced if it was a 50c game. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. For comparison, the $15 asking price for this game could get you games like "Valheim", "Cuphead" or "Remnant: From The Ashes". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
