Gamepad Support
Fold your way to victory with a mouse or controller... Swapping between input modes is automatic and can be done at any time.
The goal in Paper 2 is to match a target shape by folding your paper while not exceeding the maximum fold count. The primary fold type is the standard fold, which folds through all layers of the paper in a straight line. Later in the game you gain access to a second type of fold known as the top layer fold - an advanced technique that can be used to selectively fold or unfold just the top layer of paper.
The game's mechanics are simple enough that just about anyone can pick up and play... You don't need to be an origami guru to enjoy folding. However, that's not to say the game is without challenges - mastery of the mechanics and completion of the game will require copious amounts of spatial logic and outside-the-square thinking.
Each level in the game is categorized in a level group - early on in the game (after the first two groups) you unlock the ability to freely jump between all the levels in a group at your own pace.

For every level in the game, you can earn up to three stars depending on your closeness in matching the target figure. Stars are awarded at thresholds of 90%, 95%, and 100% accuracy.
Level groups are connected by objectives, such as earning a set number of stars in a previously unlocked level group. Completing objectives will unlock connected level groups giving you access to more figures to fold, as well as unlocking additional techniques to improve your folding aptitude.
There are various additional features to assist you on your folding journey that become available to you as you unlock more stars. For example, you can unlock grid, angle, and edge snapping when folding to augment your accuracy... There is also an overlay you can toggle that lets you visualize precisely where your folded figure doesn't match the target.
Subtle details like the shading of the paper when you make a fold, a faint glowing aura around brightly colored paper, and the blurred shadows in the background come together to produce a polished experience. There's a lot of eye candy, but you can also disable or adjust certain effects if you want better performance or a different look and feel.
Paper 2 features a lo-fi style soundtrack with 7 distinct songs that all have multiple layers that fade in and out in response to gameplay events.

Paper 2 - Origami Refolded is a fun puzzle game where you have to fold paper to get a certain shape. That's basically it :)
Basic info
⭐️ As usual, you begin with simple stuff and then move to harder challenges. As you progress, you unlock new features so that the folding progress becomes easier — for example, you can turn on the grid and edge snapping when folding. ⭐️ There's no timer, and you can undo any action by simply clicking a button. ⭐️ If you're stuck on a level, the game will suggest a hint. ⭐️ To complete the level, you have to achieve at least 90% accuracy. You can use special features to achieve it easier, but I've found that even without them 100% is pretty doable. ⭐️ The game has a hard mode; just in case you're a completionist and also an origami master. In this mode there are no hints and no snapping. Also it's harder to achieve 100% accuracy. ⭐️ There are 20 achievements and for one of them you have to beat the hard mode. ⭐️ Gamepads are supported! I've tried the game on Steam Deck and it runs perfectly. But in my opinion playing with the mouse is easier, so it might be better to switch your Deck to mouse mode. I'm a fan of games which you can play while listening to podcasts, and this one is a perfect candidate! Recommending it to all the puzzle lovers, this will keep you occupied for a while. One of the most satisfying OIC games I've played in a very long time. Yeah, you do know that term. Primarily but not exclusive to puzzle games, it's that moment in gaming when you go from "nah, this must be broken, can't be possible" to "wait.....Oh, I see!!!" OIC is normally followed by feeling absurdly dumb following finding a solution after many borked efforts. As a puzzle game this is definitely made with care and thought with plenty of content; well managed through a cleverly constructed learning curve and unobtrusive hints. It's not a game that wants you to fail, it just wants you to work it out for yourself wherever possible so it can hear you say those three letters out loud. Unless you already know origami beyond making rudimentary paper 'planes you might, like me, be surprised by how fiendish yet simple the art of folding paper can be and also what can be achieved with so few folds - I'm sure you'll look at some levels and wonder how that's even possible in 4 folds! It's really gratifying to play and progress and a lot of fun (dopamine included for free) too I also really liked how the first half or so of the game is kinda practical and esoteric but after you've earned your stripes you get to work out and see the wonders and beauty of intricate paper-folding like animals, birds and other everyday objects - and best of all this is genuinely something you could transfer to and use in real life to give pleasure and joy to others with practice (and feel very, very smug indeed to boot) Papers2 is very nicely thought out, designed and delivered by a responsive dev and IMO is great value for money not least 'cos of the amount of content, the practical benefits and the huge amounts of OIC e: my nomination for Sit Back & Relax 2025
Nice balance between challenge and relaxation: early perks and helpful hints make it accessible, while the later puzzles will still give puzzle enthusiasts something to chew on. The premise is simple. You’re given a beautiful, colored piece of paper and a target shape to achieve by folding. The challenge is that you only have a limited number of moves to make it happen. Folding is as easy as pulling from the corners or sides of the paper. While perfection isn’t required, you’ll need to do your best to earn enough stars to unlock new puzzle packs. The maximum you can earn per level is three stars, which adds a touch of challenge without feeling punishing. Stars also serve another purpose — unlocking helpful perks to make your folding journey a bit smoother. These perks are unlocked early in the game, well before you encounter the more devious and complex puzzles. For instance, you can unlock the ability to freely play any level within a pack. Without this perk, you’re forced to tackle levels in order, which can be frustrating if you’re stuck on a particularly tricky puzzle. The game thoughtfully provides quality-of-life features like snapping, which boosts accuracy and saves you from tediously aligning paper edges to the exact spot. Grids, angles, and additional outlines can also be activated with the press of a button, making it easier to perfect your folds. And if things go awry, no worries — the game offers unlimited undo options, ensuring you never end up in an unsolvable mess. Puzzle packs unlock in a linear order, but the game’s friendly difficulty curve ensures you won’t feel discouraged even if folding isn’t your forte. Most puzzles are guided by helpful outlines that nudge you toward the desired shape. And if you’re truly stuck, the game offers a single hint after a minute or two of inactivity, showing you the outline for your first fold. The one big criticism is the stage select menu. It’s very slow, incredibly awkward to move around, and you always start at the first puzzle pack. So when you come back to the game later, you waste time looking for the next puzzle.
100% worth a play! The game is challenging and satisfying!
Compared to Paper 1, Paper 2 is better graphically optimized and has more polished accessibility and snapping tools for ease of folding (in normal mode). However, I personally found many of the folds too easy with the 'checkpoint' system. Hard mode is not hard, it's an annoyance. The hard mode levels are not even new, they are the same as the normal mode levels (which you have already solved because hard mode is only unlocked with a 100% normal mode save). The snapping tools are disabled, making it more of test of your mouse motor skill ability than puzzle solving. A much better hard mode would have been new levels, and alike to Paper 1 where snapping tools are allowed, but there are no checkpoints or hints. May be I will find some better challenging levels in the Workshop when that feature is completed.
this game has such a perfect atmosphere, wonderful music, beautiful visuals, and of course great puzzles. you're given tools that make folding easier, like grid snapping, and angle locks. if you're stuck the game will offer you a hint, but won't outright tell you how to solve the puzzle (which i appreciate). its a really pleasant game to just relax and solve puzzles in.
This game is super complex and challenging (I called it a crime against stupid people.) but in a good way, once you get past the basics and into the more challenging levels you really have to stop and think about how to approach the puzzle. it feels rewarding to finally get a level at 3 stars or even finishing a level with less steps than than expected, in some levels you can also solve the puzzle in multiple ways letting you be creative and think out of the box. I also love the music, it's very relaxing to slow down, chill to some lo-fi and fold some origami. When I first played the game I expected to be familiar with some of the shapes but the dev got super creative and created his own complex puzzles that you won't find elsewhere. This game is a love letter to origami.
É um bom jogo, mas chega uma hora que enjoa, pq ser sempre a mesma coisa. Pra completar, vc tem que estar num dia bom e querendo mesmo terminar esse jogo.
