Panta Rhei - Guardian of Time

full disclaimer - i know the devs pretty well and helped testing the game a bunch but i still really enjoy the combat feel and the whole power system. the whole combat gameplay does need a little getting used to but once you get good at using the time powers effectively it becomes so satisfying to pull off combos. the balancing right now is a bit wonky but i'm sure they will update that soon and i kinda hope they add something that allows to go really deep with the late combat abilities.

very appealing and refreshing game with unique gameplay mechanics that I have not encountered before. the combat feels very satisfying and the inclusion of hand-drawn cutscenes is also a notable positive feature. very nice little game!

It's a very charming little indie game! The time bending mechanic feels new and is so well implemented. I enojyed the cut scenes very much. well done!

I played the game roughly for 110 minutes now. In general, I was pleased with the overall game experience. Panta Rhei is a roguelike game that did not feel similar to different other games with the roguelike tag. Gathering more and more abilities in the beginning to be used to progress the story, learing the combat and the combinations of attacks and bonuses/skills to get stronger and make combat easier. The vast possibilities to find your own playstyle was very appealing to me. Unfortunately, there might still be room for improvement at some points. During some runs in the story part (Realm of time) but more often during some time in the bonus part (Floating Farms) I experienced invisible walls withing the bridges that connect the different rooms or a passage being blocked for combat not getting opened after winning the fight. I had to cancel these runs and was a liitle bit disappointed. Additionally, sometimes the graphic feels slightly off, e.g., when you see a ruin with a destroyed wall and there is a hole in this wall but you still cannot go throught that hole eventhough your character obviously looks like he can fit there. Nevertheless, I like the game and hope some of the bugs get fixed at some point.

シンプルだけど面白いゲーム。バトルシステムがユニークで、シールド防御している敵には時間巻き戻し攻撃で自分が入れた攻撃を巻き戻してもう一度ダメージ入れれる。雰囲気もとてもよく世界観がよい。もっと流行っていいゲーム

Quite a fun game with some interesting new ideas as far as I am concerned. Timebased mechanics add some twists into the combat that can feel pretty satisfying if pulled of as planned. Some permanent upgrades are available in the main Lobby part of the Map and they mostly add to the existing mechanics from what I've seen. So the game isnt too crowded with mechanics. With a bit over two hours i havent seen the whole game, but i will definitely try to beat it.

I really enjoyed playing the game although I am not the biggest fan of rogue-like games. I really like the art style and the world setting in general. Especially the time based abilities are my favourites. Nevertheless, sometimes I was stuck especially on the bridges between the stages. All in all its a funny and eye catching game.
