my wife`s friend said that every like on this comment he will put 1 more cucumber into my ass. HELP!
This is terribly made asset flip type of game, no two ways about it. Let's talk about presentation first and lack of overall cohesion. The main character, fox lady, is quite detailed and well animated 3d model. And then, NPC models and the maps are very low poly 3d - clearly there is a disconnect here. I did some research and found some of the original models: "Kyoko - Game Ready Character" (the fox lady) on cgtrader website, and "POLYGON - Ancient Empire" map (called Empire in game) on syntystore website. That's where I ended my quick search, but I am pretty certain that all levels in this game were store bought, as well as the music. Look, I have no issues with pre-made assets, so long as are used creatively (as opposed to mindless copy-paste) and there is consistency in terms of style. Last but not least, the end product has be functional, which is not really the case here. Yes, this game barely works because it is riddled with bugs, collision detection issues, etc. Here are some examples: you will hit invisible barriers often, fall through the map and die, die just standing there doing nothing, die by getting stuck in a wall, getting stuck on the floor, clipping through objects. Another sign that we are dealing with poorly cobbled together assets. In case you are not familiar with this type of games, it is a 3d platformer that has you go up from start to finish (Only Up clone). It feels like climbing a huge tower essentially, without the walls. Each section or map is represented by a different theme: feudal Japan, western, viking map, roman empire (very original stuff). To spice things up, enemies are scattered throughout the various levels. There is a combat system, but it's so badly made and unsatisfying that I would just run past brain dead AI altogether. No point in fighting them since they don't drop any loot or XP. Avoid combat at all costs in the platforming sections because it will only lead to you fall to the beginning of the level and start over again - don't say I did not warn you! Then you have what I think are "pal" npcs, which the game is partially named after. These oversized and brightly coloured npcs don't look like they belong in this game at all in terms of the design/model, and you cannot interact with them. They serve no purpose in the game itself, but I will get back to those in the conclusion. Platforming is the core of this game - it works for the most part, but it will get frustrating fast because of the previously mentioned collision problems, annoying enemies -with throwing weapons- and the fact that the wall bouncing is inconsistent. In some sections you need to jump off the side of a wall to reach higher places, but on many occasions the game won't register the input for the 2nd jump. As a result: you will fall to the beginning of the area and this is very annoying. And then there is the last level...Remember that Crystal Cave section in Dark Souls 1, that has you walk on an invisible path? Well, imagine that section in this game, 3 times as long, looking ugly as sin and with just a finite number of consumables to show you the way. In fact, I don't think that section is possible and I will soon post a video on community hub to illustrate the problem. Spent 4 hours on this game already and I am not prepared to play anymore for fear of losing my sanity. So, in conclusion, this game is an ugly, clunky and frustrating mess of disjointed asset parts and gameplay concepts that just don't gel together at all. Buzzwords such as "Pal" (from Palworld) and "Souls-Like" are used in store description to coax unwary gamers, but it has absolutely nothing to do with those. I can't recommend this, not even at the asking price.

the combination of souls like and only up turned out to be very interesting
This game is an innovative symbiosis of dark souls and only up. Nice that devs also added a majority of red dead redemption to this game! I was drinking milk writing this tho
I liked the game and found it difficult in some places. The controls are clear. I really want to get to the end, I wonder what the end will be. I especially liked the design and atmosphere of the game, very high quality graphics!
Ye, most those reviews are bogus, the controls are not clear, even the tutorial is not clear as it says shift is roll but it's sprint. Also a lot of the assets look stolen (or free from a pre-made library) like the flowers, skeletons, and chests. As far as I've gotten it reminds me of a "souls" version of "Getting over it". The character looks good (high poly with a decent amount of animated fabric physics) if a bit over glossy which is jarring when everything else looks like it was pulled out of a Nintendo 64 or Playstation one game (really blocky with flat textures). I get it's cheap but at this point the reviews are fake and the description is lying about what is in game. It plays like a very early alpha build and could use a bit of work to be beta ready let alone early access or full release. I hope the dev takes some time to polish what they have here and work on some things like the control handling and geometry collision.
poorly optimized. runs worse than Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth on my computer from 2021. the lag ruins the only gameplay, the slippery platforming.
I died from a ninja throwing a flower pot at me while standing on a giant eggplant 10/10 =D
This game is a quality clone of Dark Souls. I liked the wild west atmosphere in the second location.
