I grew up with Pac-Man World 2. In fact, I first played that game before I even knew how to read. It has a very special place in my heart. This isn't that game. Is it a good game? Yeah, I think so. It's a fine 3D platformer with a Saturday Morning Cartoon-esque presentation and fine gameplay. Some of the elements, like the Gashapon, feel a bit unnecessary, but it doesn't ruin it. But it's not Pac-Man World 2, and if you go in expecting that, you'll be disappointed. Level layouts, bosses, controls, general atmosphere, they're all completely redone. Again, it isn't bad, but it's something to be aware of. Would still recommend if you're looking for a fresh platformer.

So far so good, not perfect but fine. Game feels so much different than the original it's hard to recognize a lot of the old levels and stuff. The voices are *okay* but hearing pacman say one of two voicelines after EVERY fruit isn't great.. The Gacha machine is the single most stupid thing I can think of adding to a remake. The fact that the hardest achievement is to collect every figure likely means it's some hellishly boring grind. Not being able to scrap duplicates after you already accepted them is just the icing on the sh*t cake and I'm sure they've had tons of complaints but never went back to patch in a fix. DLC costs $12, introduces just 3 sonic themed crossover levels and after playing through the first boss of the main game I assume that's like, what, 5 minutes of content?
