Outside the Blocks

As far as building sims go I really enjoy this one. It's similar to Tiny Glade but has a lot more options to be precise. There is a fair amount of trial and error and I imagine you can spend a lot of time mastering this tool and creating complex structures, but it's fairly easy to dive right in and create cozy little dioramas that look good without much effort. There are tutorials that are educational and easy to understand, but some things you just have to experiment with. If you're the kind of person who can spend hours in build mode in sim-games, basebuilders etc - you will like this IF you don't care about gameplay. There are no playable characters and no plot. I experience some slight lagging, but then again I havent really played around with the settings yet to optimize, but I mention it since I don't usually have that problem when diving into a new game. If the cozy medieval setting is to your liking then give this a try!

coolest environment building game ive played, 10/10

Completely unplayable, and have requested a refund. Cons: - The clicks have to be EXTREMELY precise, - The font is completely illegible unless you are right on top of your screen. I'm talking 8 point font level small. - I struggled to follow the tutorial, because again, the clicks have to be EXTREMELY precise. I cannot stress that enough. - I got about halfway through the tutorial until I had the two level box house or whatever, and it was telling me to place roof eaves on opposite sides. I did one, but could not for the life of me get the second "opposite" one, so it would never register, and never let me move on even if I just wanted to skip it entirely and mess with it on my own. - This was supposed to be a cozy game. It caused me nothing but frustration, as is probably obvious by this review. - There was no settings option that I could see. - I really very genuinely was excited for this game, but it was a massive disappointment, because it is ENTIRELY too complex to navigate or even read. - I was attempting to stream this (being my first time playing) on Twitch, and had to quit. It was THAT frustrating to attempt to figure out. Pros- - The music was nice, I guess - Literally everything up until the tutorial step for actually making buildings, but considering that the buildings are the main part of the game, it's hard to count that as a pro. Save yourself the migraine (seriously, I'm about to go take a Tylenol, because trying to read the tiny font has given me a migraine) and don't buy this game.
