I start building my island. Extremely cozy and cute. I feel at peace. I spawn a sheep but accidentally delete the block the sheep is standing on. The block disappears but the sheep remains. It hovers above the water effortlessly, defying gravity and signaling its omnipotence. I exclaim, "holy sheep!" I give sheep Jesus disciples (weakling sheep which can't even hover) and build it an island filled with buildings, bridges, and docks to glorify its divinity. My sheep empire is rapidly expanding. No other animal kingdom can compete with the sheep crusade. I close my eyes, content, and whisper, "sheepshallah" (the sheep god wills it). 10/10 would glorify sheep Jesus again.
i wish there was a goal or something to... do. this isn't a game, it's a mapmaker with a gameified tutorial. and once you're done with that, it rapidly devolves into "how many of these achievements can I get literally right now." Place all the animals? Done. Take ten screenshots? Rad. Rotate something? Done. Hit undo 5000 times? ...Pass. It's cute. It's Townscaper. Did you like Townscaper? It's Townscaper. And lacks in all the same ways that Townscaper does. People love a sandbox. But if there's no toys in it, then I'm just playing with a bunch of loose sand.

An addicting and cozy game about being creative. I found this game very meditative and I had the same feeling of sitting in my basement as a kid playing with Leogs for hours on end. Just coming up with fun little ideas. Like this is where the harbor would be and oh then the city center would be here on this hill and of course the lighthouse would be here. The game has a nice slow ramp up in unlocking new tools to use and explore, and it really starts to shine once you unlock everything. I recommend picking this game up as it's a steal at $5.
To start with, before this game, i never really game this genre a chance, and now i can really see the appeal with this game. I found myself just completely lost in my imagination, I didnt even notice how its already been an hour. Its a really good way to relax, i felt that i could just let my ideas flow, i came up with a whole story for my island by the end. Its very cozy, and its got a really good vibe to it, i would definitely recommend trying this if you like these sort of games, and in my case, id even recommend this for someone who might not have given these a chance in the past.
This is chill little game. Once you work you way through the tutorial and unlock all the features it very subtly sucks you into the world you are creating. I started building my little island world and before I knew it almost three hours had passed and I genuinely didn't want to stop. The generation tool is pretty interesting to use because it creates landscapes you wouldn't come up with on your own. The tools are pretty intuitive and the ability to change the color scheme allows you to make the game match the vibe you're going for. I'm excited to see where the developer takes this game as the potential for new features that dramatically change what you can bring to life is through the roof. Overall this is a great "nothing box" game where if you want to just lose yourself to the world of your imagination you easily can.
It's not a game, I wouldn't even call it a sim, it's just a map-maker. It's a cute idea, might work for a game jam but not worth the price. I do hope the dev will consider adding gameplay, in which case I will change my review. Some simple rts or roguelike features could make this awesome. For instance, building out the island could cost coins that need to be gained or harvested or collected from fighting monsters etc...
For the price you can't go wrong. This is a nice chill experience and you can create some great islands. My 9-year-old saw me playing this and wanted to jump right in. I had to kick him off after a few minutes so I could get back to my island (an I had to undo the mess he made LOL).

Super cozy and relaxing game! Great onboarding which made it easy to learn all the different tools and tiles you can build with. Mostly been playing it with my kids and they love adding animals and changing the color palette! The generative feature is really cool and I've had a lot of fun tweaking the parameters and seeing what happens when you choose extreme values.
This is a good start to a game, and it's quite cheap so I'm giving it a thumbs up, buuuut... it feels like a project that's just getting started, and there haven't been any improvements for a few months so it may be dead. Wish list: More color control; there shouldn't be only one palette for the whole screen Better navigation -- I should be able to do everything with just the mouse Shrink the UI/menu items -- they're intrusive Fingers crossed for an update someday. Even with those changes it'd make me want to play more!
