Do not buy this. Unless you really love headaches. Initial thoughts when loading up the game was good, I was excited and positively surprised to see DLSS and Frame Generation available in the options menu. The game seemed well optimized and I didn't really experience any bad framedrops. However, every shadow in the game is immensely pixelated for some reason, this got quite annoying to look at since the quality in general is pretty good. Also game seems to have no anti aliasing implemented, might be related to the shadows too, all edges are super pixelated. Quickly after leaving the menu and loading in to the actual game, I realized how utterly janky and poorly tested the game unfortunately is. I am aware that it is released in Early Access, but it felt more like an alpha-stage, honestly. While learning the game, I had to "restart from last checkpoint" and lose progress more than 10 times, since getting stuck at "inspecting" papers (yes, the papers that hold key information for progression, can't be skipped) is a thing. I had to adapt and learn not to look at all the papers - only the ones I knew held information from previous runs. I experienced the same thing with the inventory of the game, you enter the inventory with "I", but half of the time, "ESC" does nothing, and you are infinitely stuck inside of the inventory, but with the inventory, you have to ALT+F4 the entire game, this one can't be rescued by loading from latest checkpoint. The audio of the game is almost laughable, from the non-directional audio of the AI/NPC stomping around like a barefoot gorilla, to the general audio effects that seems to have no "range" for playback (an example, you press an elevator button and run 30m away from the elevator, the loud and 20-second long sound qeue from the elevator sounds like they come from inside your own body, lol). The whole game surrounds itself around the stealth mechanics of the game, and you are essentially progressing by completing small tasks while avoiding the monster. You have the ability to hide in cabinets, which is your way of escaping the monster if you're in a tight spot. With this in mind, a game totally centered around stealth gameplay — imagine that the AI/NPC quite often gets stuck outside of said cabinet that is your only real "hiding spot" from the monster. Sounds like fun, right? No. Not fun. The AI can path one of two ways, and if the AI/NPC is pathing towards your next task/puzzle, then you are almost in a game of dragging the AI/NPC around, since you can aggro it and run to hide in a cabinet (and pray that the AI does not get stuck outside the cabinet). This quickly became the game loop for me. With the price tag of this game in mind, although it being Early Access, I certainly expected A LOT more of it. I have tested so many games in the same indie-horror genre, and games that are 1/10 of the price of this one has had WAY more quality to them. I can not recommend this game to anyone, save your money. A promising game, can't wait for the continuation of the story.
Just finished the game. A little buggy but overall really fun realistic horror with very very nice graphics and good chases. Awesome!
Overall, “Outsanity” is a solid horror game that delivers a spooky experience. Its immersive atmosphere and straightforward gameplay make it a great choice for fans of the genre. While it may be short and have some predictable moments, it is still worth playing for a quick scare.
Needs more content for the price. like all indi games it says "to be continued" but 97.5% chance it wont be Everything else if good, nice menu, good graphics, a few technical problems but I can show you how to avoid them. https://youtu.be/d4mgJOyYPVc
