Outlast 2

The game itself leans more into psychological horror rather than supernatural horror like the first game. It is on the same level of gore as the whistleblower DLC of the first game. The game is split into 2 the main areas: The Village and The School The Village [list] [*]Open spaces [*New hiding spaces (Cornfields/Tall grass, Barrels, Underwater) [*]Areas are less confusing than Outlast 1 [*]Different types of stalker enemies and sequencies [*]Hiding is not crucial in most of these areas as much as learning how to use new mechanics to evade enemies. [/list] The School [list] [*]Tight spaces similar to Outlast 1 [*Shares some design frustation as Outlast 1 [*]School section are the crux of the horror elements the game presents to you [*]The section serves more as a story tool most of the time with some chase sequences near the end [/list] Overall it is an improvement over the first game in terms of story development, horror sequences, level design and implementation of new mechanics that immerse the player more into the game.
