Outlast 2 introduces you to Sullivan Knoth and his followers, who left our wicked world behind to give birth to Temple Gate, a town, deep in the wilderness and hidden from civilization. Knoth and his flock are preparing for the tribulations of the end of times and you’re right in the thick of it.

♠ { Gameplay Mechanics } 8/10 { Narrative & Concept } 8,5/10 { Graphics & Visuals } 9/10 { Sound & Music } 10/10 { Replayability & Longevity} 7,5/10 { Experience } 9,5/10 { Vote } 8,5/10 " A perfect storm of gore, atmosphere, tension and insanity that lead the way to the darkness within. Terrifying experience. Play it loud, in the dark, like a nightmare. " ♠

Après avoir fait le 1 et le DLC, j'ai fait et fini le 2 que je trouve mieux, je préfère le coter secte qu'au coté hôpital psychiatrique perso.
Outlast 2 promised a relentless psychological horror experience, but it too often undermines itself with clumsy design choices that break the tension rather than build it. The biggest offender is the game's incessant flashbacks — they interrupt just as you’re settling into a scene, yanking you out of the present and scattering the narrative into disjointed fragments. Instead of deepening the story, these abrupt memory sequences disrupt pacing and prevent any sustained sense of dread from taking hold. Mechanically, the game leans on repetition: the same stealth hide-and-wait loops and camera-only mechanics that felt tense in smaller doses become tedious when stretched over long stretches of backtracking and environmental padding. Visuals and sound design still carry weight at times, but the emotional impact is blunted by the constant interruptions. Horror works best when it’s patient and accumulative; here, the flashbacks reset the clock too often, making scares feel cheap and disorienting rather than meaningful. In short, Outlast 2 has moments of strong atmosphere but is hampered by a fractured structure. The persistent flashbacks destroy momentum and immersion, turning what could have been a taut psychological nightmare into a frustratingly uneven experience.
