I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay. After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like. Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends. Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together. Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.
I thought the sheer absurdity of this would make it a good experience. It looked so weird from the outside; what's the worst it could be? Turns out, it steps on its own potential. The large, varied island environments are actually real fun to explore, but you're on a time limit and movement does not feel fluid. It's not the worst I've played, but it doesn't match the urgency of completing each island . There is the ability to kick things, and seeing how they react is honestly fun and likable. The issue is that the kick stops all your movement, takes ridiculously long, and the buildup for it doesn't match the relative nudge of whatever you're kicking. If you could keep a little momentum, and if you could choose between a quick kick that matches the effect of what's in the game now, or a slow kick that takes as long as kicks do in this game now but sends things flying or knocks them over harder, I'd say this game could be ridiculous fun. I will say collecting things actually feels satisfying. Eggs in particular, and just points from kicking stuff. A clever move on the developers' part for putting this temptation in; if only the kicking didn't actually feel cumbersome and impeding when we really are trying to get off the island, too. I say "No" here, but that's for my tastes. If anyone likes this premise, give it a shot and see if it fits you. Maybe you've gotten it in a way this non-gamer doesn't. Just be sure to remember that Steam refund option.
It's not. Bad little game tbh. The controls are a little clunky, the walk speed starts so slow before going normal speed, sometimes it takes a moment before kicking. The crab things are annoying too as they one hit kill you and often are hidden in grass. But the rest is quite decent collectathon with some nice hidden extras. Played on steam deck with no issues, little laggy at first but ok afterwards,so probably shaders loading

it's a best game
Suggested by a good friend and notorious troll who thought it might make for a laugh of a stream. Surprisingly we spent 4 and a half hours any%ing the damned thing. Was it enjoyable? Not precisely. But it does what it says on the tin (ostrich sim), is a complete experience from start to finish, and provides some cursed content to farm some views with.
I love Ostrich Island: Escape to Paradise If it wasn't for the witcher wild hunt I would think that Ostrich Island: Escape to Paradise was the game of the decade, I think it is a brilliant bend of platforming, puzzles, romance, smut and rpg elements. Here is 4 awesome things about Ostrich Island: Escape to Paradise: 1: Good Graphics 2: LEGENDARY STORYTELLING 3:Character Design 4: Doesn’t lie to you What is it like to play Ostrich Island: Escape to Paradise??? Well its kinda like being high on dmt and dancing to EDM in an abandoned Zellers, it's kind of an unreal experience, you feel like you have transcended god when you play Ostrich Island: Escape to Paradise. I swear to god the first time I played this game I ♥♥♥♥ and peed and ♥♥♥♥♥ my pants i couldn't believe it I sat in my own dumpies for too long I was itchy owww Should I get Ostrich Island: Escape to Paradise? when its on sale How many edibles is too many? Roughly 250mg is enough to send you into a panic attack if you play hell let loose, but you can have 500 if you watch the big lebowski I also love the big lebowski, for those that don't know After another dark comedy/crime film Fargo, the Coen brothers wrote an amazing and eccentric comedy story. This is probably the weirdest, yet one of the funniest films I've ever seen. A couple of things I loved about this film and the screenplay were:- Even though Walter and The Dude ♥♥♥♥ things up, they're best friends and will always be there for each other. Just absolutely love Steve Buscemi's role as Donnie. He's just there in the trio trying to know what's going on. There are so many moving parts in the movie, but the Coen brothers ended up giving a comedic touch to every part. I love the character of The Dude. Things just never seem to go his way and his reaction is just "Oh man." Love the fact that the Coen brothers wrote an elaborate, comic screenplay just because The Dude's last name is the same as another millionare. They've absolutely nailed this film, and I feel this is their best movie (even better than No Country for Old Men imo). Edit: Fun fact - So Coen brothers included "Shut the ♥♥♥♥ up Donnie" repeatedly in their screenplay because Steve Buscemi's character in Fargo is always talking. Anyway Ostrich Island: Escape to Paradise is the best video game ever made, it is almost upsetting how good this game is, i have thrown up twice playing Ostrich Island: Escape to Paradise.
honestly one of the best experiences a steam game has offered me. 10/10
