Appealing story overall - gameplay is rather limited. Also not the longest experience (but still telling a story/stories with a meaningful plot and conclusion, imo)!
Story is filled with holes. Voice acting is AWFUL. Especially the woman boss of our investigator. When she is talking to the military guy, she sounds like she has no idea she's risking people's lives for what amounts to a hunch. And that woman terminating the target out of nowhere was ridiculous. Would they really terminate the target without even talking to him to find out what he knows? The whole thing was amateur hour by the writers and voice actors. But the game is still pretty fun. The gameplay is the exact same as the first one. They didn't try to change it up or improve it like so many sequels do. Unfortunately, the political storyline was so obviously a criticism of US policy in Afghanistan and Iraq. They even made a not so veiled reference to Abu Ghraib. Apparently, 9/11 is far enough away to where we should sympathize with terrorists, right? When will these developers realize that audiences don't enjoy being preached at? Maybe it's just a lack of creativity. They just weren't able to come up with their own storyline for this game. Too bad.
You should really only play this if you have already played the first one. It is not as good as the first one but still enjoyable, but mostly if you want a bit more of a taste for Orwell. The story isn't as engaging as the first one and it feels like it ends suddenly. Still, the story is fine and mechanics are engaging.
Quite enjoyed the game and story! Uncovering the whole thing was fun and the mechanism of influencer is probably my favorite! Wish I could've used it more honestly
