Okay, for starters. This game is NOT that bad. Some people are making this game sound out to be a really bad, if not possibly, the worst adult game on steam by far. This is a review not just for the public but for the two guys working on this project by themselves and didn't make their funding goal for the game yet still decided to push out more content for their game. Yes, this game is a bit quirky but it's quirky in a charming way. ♥♥♥♥ all the haters for bashing on this game when they were desperate enough to buy it and think they'd pull off a quick fap and never touch the game again. Seriously. I enjoy the work put into this and I hope to see more but if not, no pressure. You're only two people and with the monthly patreon sell outs you do on the side for those who enjoy it, I feel like you guys are going the right way and shouldn't let bad reviews from butt-hurt reviewers get the best of you. ♥♥♥♥ the haters, This game is worth what it sells for, humorous and erotic, this is a 100% fully genuine positive review, not my proudest fap, will be supporting this 100%. I'm turning comments on for this review.
Eat me.
Final in the Oppaidius trilogy (of four games), Desert Island is a long time in the making and build up, and it's definitely been worth the wait. The story and writing is as top-notch as always - there's a lot of fun moments in the game (these games are best known for their humour) but there's some very realistic and compelling writing as well. Without spoiling anything: The way the main character 'shuts down' and almost goes into denial after a bad incident with a character on the island rang true for me. There's some great character development as well, and I was pleased to see even the 'sidekick pervert' Jimmy develop as a character in a organic, consistent way. But the game also allows itself the time to have silly fun as well. The volley-ball segment seems to be packed full of madcap Easter eggs and jokes, for instance. The island lore is a good example of the 'show, don't tell' concept - we're given hints about events that have occurred in the past but there's never an (unnecessary) deep dive into the history of the island, for instance. This is the right approach and lets the readers think for themselves and speculate on things rather than be fed an additional hour of gameplay text. (Some games do give you the full chapter-and-verse, but it's a ahrd thing to get right without overstaying your welcome. SteinsGate is probably one of the better examples of someone getting it right). Art is, as in all the other games, top notch as well, but I have to give a special shout-out to three aspects: 1. The pixellated backgrounds are fantastically rendered (and tragically overlooked - I suspect most VN players assume it's the 'stock photo with the oil painting filter' generic backgrounds like usual and ignore them - but really take the time to actually look at them - not a misplaced pixel). 2. Animations are really well rendered (wait until you see the volleyball mini game and the powerups) - keep in mind that these were all single-drawn hand frames. 3. The lewd animations (with Live2D?) are a new thing in the game this time. It's a good visual shake-up to the events (and no doubt the perverts will enjoy a repeat viewing in the gallery, ahem). Music is great as usual - they hire the best artists to make their tracks (a real who's who of game history, if that's your thing). Soundtrack is definitely worth a listen to (in absence of the game itself). Finally, from a code point of view, SbargiSoft should be credited for all that they've brought to the game, keeping in mind it's a RenPy title. I never would have imagined a volleyball game complete with new interfaces and effects would be able to be implemented in that, but somehow they got it working. And Angy and Ela will give the players a special keyboard treat (I won't say any more here, but the Achievement makes it clear) that was a tech innovation as well. The mind boggles that they can drop little treats like this in the game and then leave them as a surprise for the dedicated players. All in all, a wonderful ending to what was a stand-alone, individualistic VN series. I don't know what SbargiSoft has planned for next, but I'll be excited to see what it is. P(l)unge all the way!

!!! the tl;dr version will be spoiler free, but the longer review might have spoilers !!! TL;DR Positives: - Again the art is really beautiful, the best of the three Oppaidius games and the smoothest. - The animations are the best in this game of the three, also much better than most H games (Now with actual H scenes!) - A good story, with comedy and mystery. Your choices matter and have consequences. - good character development and they are well written (one person still the same cliche, but at this point its his signature). Also this game has the most characters that are influential to the story. some interesting character arcs. - fun minigame (although its a bit too much of RNG). Neutral: - again the music Negative: - The ending (although your choices do alter the ending this time around. The ending feels like one of those really rushed animes. Where the anime was cancelled or was out of funding and they had to just make an ending. This game really suffered from this.) The longer review: Of the three Oppaidius games, this one has by far the most beautiful art in it. The female characters are all very beautifully drawn and are really charming, no matter the breast size. The animations are the best in here as well, they are smooth and also beautifully drawn. And finally we have some nice H scenes in the game as well, which are one of the better scenes I have seen in H games. This time it also includes a niche, which is Dan-Dan and it really took me by surprise as well. A surprise, sure, but definitely a welcome one :) The story nicely builds upon Tropical Cruise and expands the Oppaidius universe. Some things are kinda explained in a rush, like the entity in Angela's breasts and the mystery of Rika is also suddenly solved, also I feel like Rika was kinda left in the dust. In Tropical Cruise there was this story arc about her coffee, but this was competely left out here. I felt that this was kinda left out here. But overall, the story builds up nicely, is funny and is told nicely. The character aspect of this game is the best of the Oppaidius games. There is a variety in characters and good development. Of course Jimmy is still Jimmy and that is good as he doesnt break character. Angela has good character development and is very believable as a person. Rika in this case I feel is a bit left out, but her mysterious behaviour is explained. The most adorable character is Dan-Dan. Oh god I love her. she is cute and adorable and has a really nice surprise that really surprised me and made me love her more. (FUTA isn't gay btw). However I REALLY wished she had more time in the game, as this is one of the negative aspects that will be explained later. The minigame is a volleyball game, which mostly relies on RNG honestly. Its still fun and nice to watch, especially when Angela serves :) you still have some choices in this minigame, but when the octopus blocks your special attack and immediately you can do your special attack again and the octopus block it again, when this repeats itself 3 times over, it kinda shows its mainly RNG. Also when you just lose because you had no choices popping up. its still really fun tho and its still exciting. The music again didnt do much to me This is also the first and last game in the Oppaidius series that has a negative. The ending for me was definitely a negative. From the start of the game, the story develops nicely. you find out more about what happens on the island, you solve some mysteries that are set in Tropical Cruise and Angela slowly opens up to you. Rika mainly neglected now and stays kinda static, the mystery around her secret coffee ingredient that changes people was just completely neglected. And then you enter chapter 5, where you meet Dan-Dan. This adorable character you meet shortly several times through this chapter. you found out a bit about who and what she is and her character arc is so cute. Nonetheless, she doesnt have much screen time in this game, which is criminal as she deserved much more! When I finished chapter 5, it really felt to me that this was the MIDDLE of the game, but it was the end. The story has a nice build up and then chapter 6 just feels so rushed, it felt like I was watching one of those rushed endings in anime where the studio cancelled the anime or are out of funds and with what they have, must make an ending in 1 episode, while before they were building up the story well with many things. it was so disappointing. One moment you become intimate with Angela and the next slide is BAM! you were ALREADY rescued and live happily ever after. you dont even see the moment you are rescued from the island, its just so rushed. I think chapter 5 should have been the mid point of the story, so at least like 10 chapters and the later chapters could have explored the lore of the island more or some attempts for people to try to contact the outside world. Maybe also a merger of the two camps. so much story potential, wasted by the rushed ending. Nonetheless, this game is still good to play, especially its worth because of the art and H scenes. AND Dan-Dan! I would REALLY LOVE to see more of her in any project you might make in the future.
Another excellent title in the Oppaidius series! This entry came with its own unique additions to the series. I loved all the characters and all the routes. Several fan favorites return to make it a memorable experience. With every game in this series, the music, graphics, humor, and sweet moments are all well written and timed perfectly. The hand-drawn art, hand-drawn animations, and pixel art are all top-notch. Every music track is another fantastic piece that reminds you of a lost age of games. This is the quality you can expect from every Oppaidius title, including this one. Even though there are lots of happy endings in this game, finishing this game feels a bit like finishing the first one - bittersweet. I loved playing this series through the years, and while I thoroughly enjoyed this final title in the trilogy, I'm also a little sad that the ride is over. I anticipate revisiting these titles over the years. As they are great tributes to nostalgia themselves, I feel myself becoming nostalgic for these games too. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for SbargiSoft!
Maybe in Italian this is funny or interesting. But in English its tedious, dumb, boring, boring and boring. Oh. Did I say boring? Yeah. Its boring.
For the most part, all three Oppaidius entries are pretty much the same deal. Oppaidius Desert Island!, however, is probably the weakest link in the chain of this brassiere. Still an enjoyably titillating, pleasantly silly sex comedy, this is far from a bad Visual Novel, just one with a few more issues than the rest of the trilogy, with a much smaller emphasis in boobie-jokes, and a much lower replay value. Unless that’s just oppai fatigue speaking… Cubed3 Rating: 6/10 Read Full Review Here
