This game is challening in a very good way
The HUD gives me ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ headache, over than that it's aight
Considering it's being developed by one person and in early access and all, the game seems cool. I do have two major issues with it though: There's no way to skip the long narration at the start of a level, and the game doesn't tell you how to switch weapons. I couldn't make it very far once I got the AR as I immediately ran out of ammo and couldn't switch back to my handgun.
Intense old-school FPS with Dead Space vibes! Tight gunplay, smart ammo management, and terrifying jump scares. Rough edges (no FOV slider, repetitive music), but hugely atmospheric and addictive. 9/10!
It's a solid shooter and a doom/dead space hybrid. It has a good art style, fun game play, and manages to capture both the survival horror feel and the action shooter formula. I dislike the way levels are designed though - massively open maze like complexes that remind me of the ancient 90s FPS level design. To some that might be a plus. If you can overlook that, check the game out.
Operator8 is a thrilling ride through a hellish landscape, blending fast-paced FPS action with a deeply unsettling horror atmosphere. If you’re a fan of Doom-style shooters, you're in for a nostalgic yet terrifying experience. The gameplay is intense and unforgiving, with smooth, old-school run-and-gun mechanics. The combat feels satisfying as you blast through grotesque enemies, all while managing a mix of weapons, ammo, and your own survival.
I usually give lax reviews about indie games because I understand its a difficult undertaking for a solo developer but even still I have a lot of issues with this title that I cannot deny. I enjoyed this game for the first 3 levels and I must say I was impressed with the atmosphere and tone of the game, plus I can feel a lot of work went in the weapons and gameplay department too, no complaints there. My initial verdict was positive too. But then it started to go downhill, first of all why the hell is this game so unoptimized and laggy? Why do I lag even more on every respawn? Then there is the issue of loss of my save file, I was on level 3 and had almost cleared like 75% of it only to come back the next day and was unable to continue from that point forward. I even tried restarting the level but I lost all of my weapons, ammo and credits too? Seriously what the hell was that? I really really wanted to like this game and even recommend this but come on.. these are glaring issues and the fact the game has launched in this state is sad. I saw a lot of potential in this but I'm disappointed.
Ну что могу сказать, простенькая игрушка с неплохим сюжетом, бродилка-выживалка, зачищаем все и вся от неведомых тварей, мне понравилось за свои деньги топ)
Sick game from what I've played so far! The atmosphere is really immersive and the sound design is great. Weapons feel punchy. Worth a try.
Wouldn't recommend for anyone with a low end laptop or pc, game crashed three times before I eventually was able to play, granted it was extremely laggy with low framerates and the first three enemies just running in place, after turning my settings down to the lowest to try and fix it, the game crashed again and I can't be asked to try again.
