It's kinda like if Tim burton had a threesome with Monty Python and a world of goo. Onirike. At first sight seems a bit creepy- and sure, it is weird. But it feels more dreamlike than anything, and honestly had a pretty hopeful vibe to it that made me smile when playing it. Ended up becoming one of my favorite platformers. Onirike is a bizarre surrealist fairy tale that takes as much inspiration from Crash Bandicoot as it does from Tim Burton. It’s essentially a 3D platformer that would have been right at home on the PlayStation twenty years ago (although much better looking). It’s not particularly deep in any area, your abilities are fairly basic, the puzzles won’t pose any kind of challenge. In the modern landscape of inventive puzzle-platformers, it feels not as impressive and more like a cute little game to waste an afternoon on, but for all its limitations, it’s an enjoyable, stylish journey that’s fun while it lasts. But despite that I quite enjoyed the world that was created. I personally had fun with it. I do still enjoy games that may not be perfect, so on that note I do recommend it, just perhaps tamper your expectations a bit. 7/10
Onirike has a beautiful world and solid platforming, but the constant narration ruined it. With such a distinguished visual style you should let the world speak for itself.
A dreamy game, both figuratively & literally, and I went in with the idea to play something like Psychonauts' 'little brother' ... fortunately came out with the same kind of feelings! In terms of game design it's far from perfect and counterintuitive at times, but apart from a few tedious (fetch) quests, it became better the more I progressed, and there were some interesting platforming segments for me, personally. 💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮/🕙 — Not much is told to the player besides the story, so aim to understand the basics before you can really enjoy this game, and you won't get pressured too much!
The game had potential, but the naration spelling everything out to you made it feel like it was specifically targeted at young children(maybe it was, but looking at the game description there wasn't anything hinting at this). I would have loved it if it was a bit more subtle with the story, which would have added a bit more to the spooky atmosphere of the game. I didn't get too far into it, so I can't comment on the story and overall gameplay, but, honestly, the constant naration was enough of an issue for me that I didn't want to keep playing
It's like someone woke up one day and thought, "I wanna make a game that gives you the same feeling as freaky soviet-era animations." It's like someone woke up one day and thought, "I wanna make a game that some kid will play and then years later wonder whether it was a real memory or not." And then they made this game. It's like a mix of a claymation children's story and a fever dream, and I'm here for it. While the actual gameplay is not all that deep, the strange set of movement (and stealth?) mechanics add to the ethereal atmosphere. If any of this interests you, definitely give it a go.
A narrative adventure with platforming, puzzle and stealth elements. Explore the colorful, surreal Onirike’s world with the enigmatic Prieto, who becomes invisible away from magical flowers and loses his memory with the day-night cycle. Gameplay: https://youtu.be/DZqPTYsTa_c Onirike is a aesthetically pleasing platforming game through and through, taking heavy inspiration from animated films likes of Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach. The dream world is a dystopia disguised as paradise. The story about dreams, hopes and the search for reality. Along the way you'll meet many characters, all with their own emotions. + The game resembles the works of Tim Burton. + Suitable for people of all ages. + Gorgeous visual style. + Unique, cute characters. + Excellent voice acting (the voice of the narrator is very pleasant). + Open world. + Achievements. - You can't explore the world at your own pace. The invisibility timer and the day/night cycle constantly rush you. [u]You can read other reviews and subscribe to our curators.
Bland, boring and annoying.
Хоррор паркур, с головоломками в некоторых местах
Onirike is a fun little 3d platformer with dreamlike environments, a claymation-like artstyle and a bizarre but intriguing, lovely story. I was honestly surprised by how charming and full of life this game is. It might seem a bit creepy judging from the screenshots alone, but really it's anything but. Instead, Onirike has a really warm and hopeful vibe to it. And sure, gameplay-wise it's janky at times and the narration can be a bit too slow, but I'm really enjoying my time playing. Would recommend! Edit: Thinking back to it, this might just be one of my favorite games of the year :)
