Never played Onimusha before, but this game slaps. It's almost like an amalgamation of God of War 2018 and Sekiro. The rhythm of combat with its several defensive and offensive mechanics just works really well. If you're into character action games, this is a must-play.
Yippeee, finally a new Onimusha and it's very good! Sadly, most of the side content is not very good compared to the main story. The difficulty is perfect for an action game; you can beat most bosses on the first to third try (except for maybe the final boss). I am sad that Carnage difficulty is locked behind game completion and that I need to do all of the very mid side content again because weapon and armor upgrades do not carry over into your second playthrough. The constant reuse of the smaller bosses is also quite tiresome, sadly. The gameplay is clearly the highlight, with many different ways to handle combat in cool and stylish manners. For everyone who has not yet played an Onimusha game: this is not a Souls game, it is an action game where you can pretty much tune the difficulty by how stylish you want to be. I also love the main characters (especially the final boss) and their expressiveness throughout the game. Using Issen feels better than any drug in existence

2026년 캡콤은 해냈다..
Great combat, great parry system, decent story. This year Capcom really shows how to deliver a great AAA games.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 — A Masterpiece Onimusha: Way of the Sword is everything I wanted from a modern Onimusha game. From the opening moments, the game pulls you into its dark take on feudal Japan. The combination of historical settings, supernatural horror, incredible environments, and a fantastic soundtrack creates an atmosphere that feels unmistakably Onimusha while still feeling modern. ⚔️ Combat The combat is the highlight for me. Every strike feels impactful, and the timing, counters, abilities, and executions make fights incredibly satisfying. There's enough depth to reward learning enemy patterns rather than simply button-mashing. When everything comes together and you start chaining attacks and counters smoothly, the combat feels fantastic. 👹 Atmosphere & World The atmosphere is one of the game's biggest strengths. The mix of samurai action and supernatural horror is exactly what makes Onimusha unique. The environments are beautifully designed, enemy designs are memorable, and the game consistently creates a sense that something dangerous could be waiting around the next corner. 🎵 Presentation The visuals are excellent, but the sound design deserves just as much credit. The soundtrack fits the setting perfectly, while the weapon sounds and combat effects give every encounter the impact it needs. Most importantly, the game understands the identity of Onimusha. It modernizes the gameplay without turning it into something completely different. ✅ PROS ⚔️ Excellent, satisfying combat 🗡️ Great swordplay and combat feedback 👹 Memorable supernatural enemies 🇯🇵 Fantastic feudal Japan atmosphere 🎨 Beautiful environments and visuals 🎵 Excellent soundtrack and sound design 👻 Great balance between historical and supernatural elements ❤️ Faithful to the spirit of classic Onimusha 🎮 Modern gameplay that still feels like Onimusha 💀 Very satisfying executions and counters ❌ CONS Some sections could have been longer A few moments feel like they end just as they get going I simply wanted more — more areas, enemies, bosses, and content Those are honestly my biggest complaints, and that's mainly because I didn't want the experience to end. 🏆 Final Verdict Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a 10/10 for me. It delivers the atmosphere, combat, style, and supernatural samurai action I wanted while successfully bringing Onimusha into the modern era. If you're a fan of the original games or enjoy samurai/action games, this is absolutely worth playing. A genuine masterpiece. 10/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Now give me more Onimusha. 🗡️🔥
very good game and mechanics.
7.5/10. PLEASE FIX PHOTO MODE! Useless Photo Mode if I can't use it in Cutscenes...
