Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 25 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Onimusha 2 is kind of a clunkier retread of the original. There's an odd companion system based around gift giving that gets abandoned a third into the story. Enemies spawn endlessly, making exploring a bit of a chore. It takes far more souls to do a simple upgrade, making leveling up a arduous grind. The story is just a weirder and worse version of the first game's. The pacing is really lopsided, often throwing you into several boss encounters back-to-back. Worst of all, boss arenas often have like 6 camera angles, aiding in a bit of confusion and artificial difficulty (the final boss arena is the biggest offender...)., Yeah, I don't know, I didn't like this game; it's missing the special sauce from the original... All of that to say though that this Remaster is impeccable! It looks fantastic and plays really well with newly added 3D controls. I think the game is kind of a turd, but I appreciate how well they preserved the turd.
Replayed Onimusha 1,2, and 3 to get ready for Way of the Sword. Onimusha 2 is my least favorite of the three, but it's not a horrible game. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the gift system, but I can see how some people might enjoy it. If you're a fan of Onimusha, you'll like this one.

Worse than Onimusha 1 in pretty much every way. The backgrounds look like blurry ♥♥♥♥ in motion. Samanosuke > Jubei. Now hurry up and give us Jean Reno
A very frustrating disappointment. The first game is fantastic but this if just an awful experience. The fixed camera angles are so bad compared to the previous game. The areas that you can see are so small and the angle often mean you can't see yourself past the crowd of enemies it constantly throws at you. What's worse is it has the same basic combat system as the first which doesn't work with this much higher enemy count. The targeting system is so bad when fighting 7 enemies in a tiny space where they spawn all around you endlessly and because of the terrible camera angles you can't even see a lot of them but they can still hit you. And the targeting system often points you at an enemy that's far away from you that you can't hit even when there are loads of enemies right next to you.
Would've loved if they released the 3rd game for Steam/PC as well.
The gameplay is there. The story is not. Capcom was trying to experiment with this one, introducing a friendship system to eek out more replayability into the game. Because guides were all the rage at the time, the idea was you'd go to your local game shop or what have you and pick up the magazine or actual guides to then help you figure who should get what and when. GameFAQs still exists and Steam has Guides but it seems like none of them have all the information you need like I remember in the actual guides. And that's the thing with the game. Terrible story aside, the game to this day is a slog of obtuse puzzles and hidden story beats. The friendship system is likely the worst offender. You want 100% of the story and the best ending? Good luck knowing how you stand with characters in how much they actually favor you. So no, I actually do not recommend this one. It's still "short" at roughly 7-9 hours long but I was cringing at nearly every cutscene -- especially when the English translation can get it so damn wrong. 6/10.
