Onikira: Demon Killer is a game where you follow a samurai named Jiro who holds the power of a dragon
named Ryujin
to save the world from Hirumo, who also holds the power of a dragon. The story isn't much, but it is what it is. It consists of either a cutscene or some dialogue in the level. Most of it is short, so you won't be stuck listening to a lot of it if you don't like the story.
The ending cutscene is super short and a bit lackluster. It makes sense why it'd end like that, but I wasn't a huge fan of it and I couldn't help but laugh as that's how they ended it.
This game is a hack and slash and platformer game. I'm not a huge fan of hack and slash, but they're fun from time to time. The combos are pretty cool since as you progress, you'll obtain more weapons to use. You can buy combos and combo upgrades with the souls you've collected. There are a variety of demons you'll encounter and some can be restricted to which weapon you use. The platforming has a couple cool techniques you can use and some are used more frequently than others, but that's also because some are bound to a particular weapon. The game has quite a few glitches. One of the things is the game failing to recognize when I've picked up some items after dying. Sometimes the items will be there and I'll recollect it again and it will count towards my progress while other times it won't show up. I've gotten a glitch where I was invincible for a time, which did come up in the final boss section. The biggest thing that I find will infuriate a lot of people will be the glitches with the achievements because I believe I have a couple of locked achievements I'm almost certain I did, but they never unlocked. The visuals are alright. You can see when enemies are going for attacks, which can help you plan your next moves. The audio was pretty samey for the most part, but it wasn't super annoying. Onikira: Demon Killer was an alright game, but the glitches definitely kill some of the enjoyment in the game. I don't recommend this game.
