About
This game is my first game. It is also the first time I am creating 3D art. As a result, the visuals are fairly rough at the start of the game and there are no animations until Chapter 3. The promotional images you see ARE screenshots taken from the game. Another not-so-good thing is that routing is difficult to understand. Again, this is my first attempt to make a game and I had no idea what I was doing when I started. A walkthrough .pdf file is included with the game.

One Lie is an adult visual story-based novel about a young man, his best friend, people he encounters along the way, his past and his future.
Story:
You and Julie (you will have a choice to change their names) have been best friends since a young age. You are best friends and have been through a lot together. Julie is the only person in this world whom you trust implicitly. And to you, loyalty and trust are the most important parts of life. The two of you are getting ready to enter college.
However, Julie makes a mistake. In the heat of the moment, she lies to your girlfriend about the closeness of your friendship. It breaks your heart and your trust in her. You feel betrayed. Not only is she the closest person to you she lies about you, thus using you to hurt someone. You decide that it would be best to go to another college and do so on your own, away from Julie.
Did you overreact? You don't feel that way. You have been betrayed and used in the past, by those closest to you. Your parents. You cannot allow that in your life. So you leave.
Julie realizes what she has done and most importantly that she is in love with you. She chases after you. She is willing to do whatever it takes to, at least, be forgiven by you. And to tell you what she feels for you.
Will you forgive her? Do you have feelings for her?
That is up to you to decide. But along the way you will encounter another young lady. How will that encounter affect your choice going forward?
Gameplay:
This is a choice-based game. Whom you choose to date will affect not only you but also what happens to other characters. As of Chapter 4, your choices will split the game into separate stories.

Pretty solid AVN for someone's first attempt. Honestly don't mind the lack of music cause I tend to turn down the music of most AVNs anyways, since music tends to be repetitive and not great with some very rare exceptions (Leap of Faith and BAD comes to mind). A lot of it is a bit rough, but honestly, as the novel goes on, you can see how well they have improved. As for pricing, I think it's fine. I mean you basically have to drop about 20 bucks to go see a movie and that is usually only 2 and half hours of content (if even that) and at current writing I'm still near the beginning of Ep3, so I think it's a good value. Is this going to revolutionize the AVN industry, probably not. Are you going to enjoy a cute story of forgiveness (and you better forgive her, ya arse) and love? Most likely. So, yeah. I say give it a shot.
This game is a little rough around the edges. The developer admits as much when the game first starts, and asks for patience with some bugs and stuff, especially early on. I liked their honesty, and decided to give them a chance. This is a game in the vein of 'Acting Lessons.' While I have played way more than 17 minutes, I spend my time in offline mode, I haven't finished the game. So my review here is gonna be short (for me), but also incomplete. I haven't finished it. The dude making the game is not a native English speaker. And the translation is gonna hurt the eyes a little bit. It's not awful by any stretch of the imagination. But it is what it is. If this were a standard "You are a college freshman" game, I wouldn't tell you to give this game a second thought. Simply put, there are dozens of "college freshman" games with higher production values. However, being like 'Acting Lessons' this isn't the typical harem game. This game is dark, very dark. Normally I groan and ♥♥♥♥♥ at the walls when I read some developer say that their game isn't right for people in bad places. For this game, it's an appropriate warning. Bad ♥♥♥♥ WILL happen to you. Bad ♥♥♥♥ WILL happen to other people in the game. Like I said, I didn't see the end. If I had quit the game from frustration I wouldn't give it a thumbs-up no matter how much the dev apologized for their learning curve. I like dark stories. ♥♥♥♥ corruption porn is my favorite genre, and if there was ANY actual rape porn available for purchase, I would be all over it. A dark story doesn't bother me. It's asking me to care about the characters that gets me in trouble. I have to be in the mood to read the game. So it's been slow going. I think that the game winds its way out of the darkness. At least things seem to be on the upswing where I am right now. But then again, ♥♥♥♥ didn't seem THAT bad in 'Acting Lessons' until it all went to hell! So... And if anybody is wondering why I am giving the game up instead of just slowly working my way through it, it has NOTHING to do with this game. I am tired of dealing with Steam's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (again), and removing the app from my PC. I got to the point of uninstalling this game and decided that the dev was on track to get a thumbs-up, and that he could use a nudge in the right direction. If you are a person that will have their PTSD triggered by violent crime, murder, and suicidal ideations, then beat it NOW! You absolutely will NOT enjoy this game. This is NOT one of those times where I tell people to man up. This isn't incest or mind control. These are real topics with real world consequences for some portion of the people. As a career nurse, this is one of those times where I have to be responsible. If you can handle the violence, and ideas that this game confronts, then; here is a story about some people trying to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives. It's a little rough, but there is a game here. (It might seem like a bug when you get to the first choice, and 2 of the 3 choices are grayed out, rather than active. The game straight up says the second choice will be available. It's not a bug. The second choice was removed from gameplay, but the option is still displayed.) Oh, and yeah, this is porn! So what about the sex. I like the girls. They have likable personalities. They have flaws. But the one thing they like to do a LOT, is ♥♥♥♥! There are sex scenes so often in here, that it sometimes seems inappropriate (for their moods and ♥♥♥♥). But I can't really ♥♥♥♥♥ too much about lots of naked time in porn! I hope that this helps some people figure out whether or not this game is for them. I hope it gets the dev a little attention. He worked hard on it. He's not the best writer in the world, but he understands what it feels like to have a pretty dark frame of mind. The darkness is believable, even if the harem is less so.
Вчера прошел игру на истинную концовку,и она мне очень понравилась,единственное не хватает немного музыки ,и с учетом того что это первая игра данного издателя ,то выглядит все просто отлично,буду с нетерпением ждать следующих версий
Oh man what a hidden gem this game is. I won't lie the opening parts can be rough. It's the developers first project and he was still learning things. Paths can sometimes be confusing as well. Some characters you meet very early are pushed aside. Once the ball gets rolling however, it turns into quite an adventure. The entire cast is so lovable, and each character feels so human and it's so enjoyable seeing the relationships grow. But it isn't all smiles and you realize that life isn't perfect and some people try their best to smile even while they suffer. I won't spoil much because it would be an injustice to the story the developer wants to share with you but I highly encourage you to try this game. Julie's path is fully finished and she is the primary focus, the remaining paths are being worked on. Please give this game a shot and don't give up on it just because of the first hour or so. It's a wonderful story with an amazing cast and I wish the best for this developers future.
I was curious with the premise of the visual novel. But at one point there's a choice where
you can forgive Julie, forgive Julie but, and a third option for No but there was a dev comment saying that it'll be added in the final release. I waited until 1.0 but there is still no route for that so I'm kinda disappointed.
. At that point I kinda just dropped the visual novel.
One Lie, developed and published by WooDon Studio, is an adult-oriented choice-driven visual novel that centers on betrayal, reconciliation, and the fragile dynamics of trust within young relationships. Built around branching story paths and multiple endings, the game places players in control of a male protagonist whose life takes a sharp emotional turn after a single lie disrupts his closest bonds. Rather than focusing solely on romance or explicit content, the narrative attempts to weave together themes of forgiveness, insecurity, and personal growth within a modern college setting. The story begins with a deep rupture between the protagonist and his childhood best friend, Julie. A lie—seemingly small at first—creates a cascade of misunderstandings that damage both friendship and romantic relationships. Hurt and disillusioned, the protagonist leaves his hometown to begin anew at a different college, seeking distance from the emotional fallout. However, Julie’s lingering feelings and determination to mend what was broken set the stage for the central conflict. This emotional foundation gives the narrative a personal stake; the tension between anger and lingering affection becomes the driving force behind many of the story’s key decisions. As the protagonist adjusts to a new environment, he meets several other characters, each with distinct personalities and romantic possibilities. These supporting characters are not mere side additions but serve as alternative relationship routes that branch based on player choice. Dialogue decisions and behavioral responses shape how relationships develop, determining whether the protagonist chooses forgiveness, moves forward with someone new, or navigates more complicated emotional entanglements. The branching structure encourages multiple playthroughs, as early decisions can significantly influence later outcomes and unlock different endings. Mechanically, One Lie adheres closely to traditional visual novel design. Gameplay consists primarily of reading dialogue, making narrative choices at key junctures, and progressing through scenes that blend slice-of-life interactions with emotionally charged confrontations. While there are no puzzles or action-based systems, the weight of choice gives the experience momentum. The branching narrative paths create a sense of agency, even though the structure remains largely linear within individual routes. Replay value is one of the game’s strengths, as exploring different romantic arcs reveals alternate perspectives and emotional resolutions. Visually, the game utilizes 3D character models and environments, which distinguish it from many 2D sprite-based visual novels. Character designs are ambitious for a small studio’s production, with particular attention given to expressive female models and romantic scenes. However, the level of polish can vary. Some scenes feel carefully staged and dynamic, while others appear more static or minimally animated. The indie origins of the project are noticeable in certain animations and environmental details, but the effort to create immersive visual storytelling is evident. Adult content plays a significant role in the game’s identity. Intimate scenes are integrated into romantic routes and are presented as extensions of character relationships rather than isolated events. The mature elements are intertwined with emotional development, aiming to reinforce connection rather than overshadow it. Players are often given the option to engage with or skip certain explicit scenes, allowing for some customization of the experience based on personal preference. Thematically, One Lie explores the consequences of dishonesty and the difficulty of rebuilding trust once it has been broken. The protagonist’s journey is less about external conflict and more about internal reconciliation—deciding whether to forgive, whether to let go, and whether love can survive betrayal. The writing alternates between lighthearted college interactions and heavier emotional confrontations, creating a rhythm that mirrors the unpredictability of young adult relationships. While some dialogue can feel melodramatic at times, it aligns with the heightened emotional tone typical of romance-driven visual novels. From a technical perspective, the game demonstrates both ambition and growing pains. As an indie project, certain elements—such as animation smoothness or environmental detail—may not match larger studio productions. However, the branching narrative design and commitment to character-driven storytelling help compensate for these limitations. The inclusion of multiple endings and varied romantic paths provides enough content to justify repeated exploration. Ultimately, One Lie stands as a heartfelt, choice-focused visual novel that emphasizes emotional stakes within an adult romance framework. Its strengths lie in its branching storylines, character interactions, and willingness to tackle themes of betrayal and forgiveness. While its production values occasionally reveal its indie scale, the narrative ambition and replayable structure make it a compelling experience for players who appreciate relationship-driven storytelling with mature themes. Rating: 6/10
I liked it. I was concerned that I wouldn't get the desired ending I wanted on the first time through, but I did. I held off on this title for a bit because music is part of the immersion for me. The Love Interests seemed a bit too young in the early game, but I'm guessing that's just the artist's style. I really liked the flickering lighting effects of the candle light in one of the animations. That must have been tricky. I was concerned for a bit that another shoe was going to drop in the late game, but I'm glad it didn't. I can't decide if this is a B+ or an A-. I'm definitely interested in seeing this dev's next game.
,
What starts as a cute little mediocre AVN develops into a well written and surprisingly dark but also lighthearted adult novel. At least in the canon route. I don´t know if the other routes are also that long and deep but i can´t wait to find out. Really good work dev.
