Oik Memory 2

I still like this game, but not as much as the first one. I understand that they wanted to spice things up by randomly changing the order on each failed attempt, but I liked the mechanics of the first game much better. The last levels were very difficult for me to complete because I kept forgetting the order and position of the middle squares in the sequence. In the first game, you simply repeated the level until you got the sequence down. Here I got so frustrated at some point, that I simply recorded the solutions of some levels to get further.

These games are fine to help you improve your memory. They do become boring and monotonous after a while, as the only progression is that the flashed box sequences become longer, so no progression really. Maybe something to fill in 5 or 10 minutes while you have your coffee and toast and get ready for work. The User Interface again is very minimalistic and a puzzle to solve all in itself. This 2nd game does improve on the first, in this one you can turn off the music but still have sound effects. When you make a mistake, it shows you where the correct squares were. And be warned you instantly get achievement spam as soon as you first open this game, really annoying. 2230 achievements for this game, that's just ridiculous, I am starting to think I should just refund because how fricken annoying this is, these things have been popping up like for an hour non stop! And I'm not even in the game. WTF!

A relaxing and casual memory game with randomized patterns, adding some replayability. The music is enjoyable, and the subtle sound effects complement the relaxing atmosphere. Oik Memory 2 stays true to the style of Oik, Zup, and Qop, making it a solid choice for fans of these puzzle games. If you enjoy this genre and like collecting achievements, it's definitely worth picking up!
