Старая, добрая игрушка которая спустя много времени все ровно приносит веселье
в детстве играл во вторую часть, жалко что ее щас нигде не найти, даже на торренте, пришлось купить тут, никому не советую, но меня зацепила ностальгия

NOT RECOMMENDED - it is too easy to get permanently stuck in objects and semi-permanently in pits and even small inclines in a way that looks super glitched out and with nothing visible blocking your movement. The winch system can break one millisecond in and the cable is not even drawn on-screen. It is extremely difficult to play even without the glitches. You can always respawn your vehicle by pressing R (not mentioned in the tutorial). It feels more like dumb luck to progress through the terrain than intentional effort. Sometimes it works flawlessly, sometimes you get stuck to a seemingly invisible wall.
This game is like Screamer 4x4 but with much better graphics. Not a bad game, some people might find it janky but it's good enough.
Off-Road Drive, developed by 1C-Avalon and published by Fulqrum Publishing, is a terrain-focused racing simulation that aims to capture the grueling, technical nature of extreme off-road competition. Rather than emphasizing high-speed asphalt racing or arcade-style spectacle, the game centers on navigating unforgiving environments where mud, rocks, snow, sand, and steep inclines become the true adversaries. Released in 2011, it represents an era when racing simulations experimented with deeper environmental physics, and it sets itself apart by attempting to model the physical resistance and unpredictability of real-world off-road conditions. The most distinctive feature of Off-Road Drive is its terrain simulation. Surfaces are not merely visual backdrops; they actively influence vehicle behavior. Mud can swallow tires and slow progress to a crawl, snow reduces traction, and rocky paths demand careful throttle control. The game attempts to simulate ruts forming under wheel spin, shifting weight distribution, and the consequences of over-revving engines in unstable conditions. This focus on environmental interaction gives races a deliberate pace. Unlike arcade racers where acceleration and cornering dominate, here success often depends on patience, momentum management, and mechanical awareness. Vehicle variety adds another layer of strategic depth. Players can choose from different classes, including stock SUVs, modified off-road trucks, and specialized prototypes built for extreme challenges. Each vehicle handles differently depending on weight, power, and suspension setup. Equipment options such as differential locks, adjustable tire pressure, winches, and reinforced components introduce technical considerations beyond simple speed upgrades. Proper preparation before a race can make the difference between clearing a steep incline or getting hopelessly stuck in mud. This attention to equipment mechanics reinforces the game’s simulation-driven identity. The event structure spans multiple international championships, including Russian trophy raids and tropical off-road competitions. Each region introduces distinct terrain types and environmental challenges, requiring adaptation in both driving style and vehicle configuration. Tracks are designed to test endurance and precision rather than reflex speed alone. Completing events successfully often feels less like winning a race and more like surviving an obstacle course. This shift in perspective—from racing against opponents to battling the terrain itself—creates a unique atmosphere that appeals to fans of methodical driving simulations. Visually, Off-Road Drive utilizes Unreal Engine 3 to present varied landscapes and dynamic weather effects. At the time of its release, the environmental detail and lighting provided a convincing sense of rugged wilderness. Mud splashes, dust clouds, and surface deformation contributed to immersion. However, by modern standards, textures and environmental models show their age. Some visual inconsistencies and pop-in effects can disrupt immersion, reminding players of the game’s decade-old origins. Nonetheless, the atmosphere of remote, untamed landscapes remains one of its strengths. Where the experience becomes divisive is in its handling and control systems. While the physics aim for realism, they can feel inconsistent or unpredictable, particularly at higher speeds. Steering responsiveness and camera behavior may require adjustment to feel comfortable, especially when using controllers. For some players, this unpredictability enhances the authenticity of off-road challenges; for others, it translates into frustration rather than rewarding difficulty. The lack of modern driving assists or refined control customization can make the learning curve steeper than expected. Content longevity also presents a mixed picture. Although the game includes a respectable number of vehicles and events, its structure remains focused primarily on championships and time-based challenges. There is no expansive free-roam exploration mode or deep career narrative to provide additional variety. Once players complete the available events, replay value depends largely on personal mastery rather than new gameplay modes. Multiplayer options exist but lack the persistent community support found in larger racing franchises, which may limit long-term engagement. Ultimately, Off-Road Drive is a niche racing simulation that prioritizes terrain realism over mainstream accessibility. Its ambition to recreate the physical challenges of extreme off-road driving is evident in its surface modeling and equipment mechanics. While its dated visuals, control quirks, and limited feature set prevent it from competing with modern racing simulators, it retains appeal for enthusiasts who appreciate deliberate, physics-driven driving experiences. For players seeking high-speed thrills or polished competitive ecosystems, it may feel rough and antiquated. But for those drawn to slow, calculated battles against mud, snow, and stone, Off-Road Drive offers a distinctive and occasionally rewarding journey into the demanding world of extreme off-road racing. Rating: 6/10
