Octodad: Dadliest Catch is a game about destruction, deception, and fatherhood. The player controls Octodad, a dapper octopus masquerading as a human, as he goes about his life. Octodad's existence is a constant struggle, as he must master mundane tasks with his unwieldy boneless tentacles while simultaneously keeping his cephalopodan...

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Aug 22 → 1.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
Whacky Janky Fun
Octodad: Deadliest Catch is one of those games that I remember seeing a ton of Youtube videos on when I was younger and it just sat in my library for the longest time. Well I finally decided to give it a try and I'm very glad that I did. I thought the game would be frustrating to control and would make me angry which is part of why I didn't give it a try for a long time but I found this not to be the case. The controls, while janky and hard to control by nature didn't give me too much trouble, and when it was. it did so in funny and humorous ways. The checkpoints are very generous so if you do mess up or fail something you don't really have to repeat a lot. The game is also hilarious, not just because of the gameplay, but because of the writing and world. I found myself laughing a lot throughout the games short campaign. I don't think the game is worth $15 since even with the bonus episodes, the game only has about 2 and a half to 3 hours worth of content, but I'd definitely recommend getting it on a sale. It's a classic for a reason. For more reviews, follow my curator page.

Surprisingly, Octodad is nowhere near as difficult as you might imagine it to be. Although the controls do take a bit of getting used to, most of the objectives don't take a great deal of speed or precision to complete. The game does its best to help you out by offering a generous checkpoint system and moving some trickier objects into place automatically. The dialogue and jokes from both your family and various background characters in each level is also genuinely funny, though the game as a whole is quite short even with the addition of two bonus levels. Still, in a time where developers are intent on giving their games challenging control schemes solely to frustrate players, it's nice to have a comedic and fair alternative to turn to.

this is a game for the real OGs of the 2010's and it does not get anywhere near the amount of recognition it deserves for its contributions to this genre of game
