Silly game. Me and a friend built a large Pirate ship looking raft for the fun of it. It gets a little repetitive and would be nice if there is a was to increase resource collection so when you get to the point of just wanting to make custom builds it would be easier. Worth playing for some fun hours of VR if you enjoy base building.
VR gaming is something I've participated in for over half a decade, but I haven't delved too deeply into all that's available. After viewing a bunch of videos from FastLawyer, the man behind the curator "Oculus Rift Reviews," I've added several VR games that interested me to my Wishlist. Years ago, I swore off Early Access survival/crafting games, and have gone so far as to reject playing Valheim until it's done, and I have banned Early Access from appearing on my Steam storefront. I learned of OceanCraft only because of FastLawyer's video. https://youtu.be/N-8zsJVjsAM Of the VR games I wishlisted, I believed the game would most hit the spot for me was OceanCraft. I had played the alpha demo of Raft whenever that came out 6 or 7 years ago. I haven't played the more developed version of Raft, but I knew the kind of experience I'd get with OceanCraft. A nice and relaxing game is just what I need right now. OceanCraft delivered! I still have more to experience about the game, but so far I have been impressed by how well OceanCraft plays. The game has a good amount of polish in its Early Access state. There are many "quality of life" features that indicate a developer that understands what it's like to play their game. I sometimes feel frustration with the controls and how long it takes to do certain things, but that's more about the inherent limitations of motion controllers than any design flaws. I think motion controllers could benefit a lot from having just one more button per controller. There haven't been any serious bugs in my several hours of playtime, but there have been some inconsistencies with using the item stack pickup features. I'll check the discussions board to see if this needs to be reported. The main thing OceanCraft needs is... just more! The last thing I did before ending my play session was build and place the equipment needed for exploring islands. This feature was added just a few weeks ago, so I've almost seen everything OceanCraft has to offer. The Steam store page description claims there's 1 hour of gameplay, but the game actually has several times more than that. I'm glad to see the game has received continuous development since the initial version FastLawyer reviewed a year ago. OceanCraft's ongoing active development was a key reason I decided to break my embargo on Early Access survival/crafting games. Like I said, I haven't played Raft since it was released as a free alpha demo many years ago, so I don't know how far this idea can go of being stranded on a raft, surviving on random stuff floating in the ocean. Hopefully there are many more interesting things OceanCraft can do with this formula. I loved the unexpected stuff like shooting down balloons and defending against attacks from tiny pirates. Give us more stuff like that! OceanCraft is great and worth $10. Just think of it, not only did I get involved with an Early Access survival/crafting game again... I purchased it at full price! And I'm glad I did.
Its Raft in VR. This game is quite fun and have great potential, cant wait too see what this becomes in the future!
dont have any friends to play this with if i did i would like it more get this if u have friends that also wanna get this
thanks for the locomotion option
What little I played it, it felt good. I hear stuff about the dev being missing etc.. but for $10 its got enough fun for you and some buddies for sure. I would recommend it even if its abandoned. I just would say bring a friend, I bought a extra copy for a buddie and he broke his VR headset same night, so we didn't get to play long, but the time we did play it was pretty great.
Very cool game If you like the look of raft then play it in vr! its in early access but it definitely has potential to be a great game the only thing bad about it is that you cant find public game automaticly, you have to put a code in it is fun singleplayer as well overall i'd say try it when more updates come out but its your choice
