Gespielt auf einem MacStudio M4 unter macOS 26. Das Spiel lief flüssig und ohne Probleme. Ich hatte das Spiel schon mal bei Erscheinen mitte der 90er gespielt. Das Spiel ist mir äußerst positiv in Erinnerung geblieben. Gute Geschichte, seinerzeit beeindruckende Grafik und Animationen und logische, anspruchsvolle Rätsel. Als das Spiel wieder erschien (läuft unter ScummVM), habe ich direkt zugeschlagen und es nicht bereut. Das Spiel ist nach wie vor so gut, wie ich es in Erinnerung hatte, auch wenn die Grafik (immer noch brauchbar) mittlerweile etwas überholt wirkt. Allein schon der Bürokratielevel am Anfang des Spiels macht das Spiel absolut spielenswert.

Awful design. Port of an interesting game with a design that worked for that year, but not for now. wish it had some redesign.

I've been trying to find a playable version of this game for at least 15 years. Decided to look it up recently and saw it was on Steam finally. So far it works perfectly and I couldn't be happier.

My aunt bought me this game in 1997. It was wayyy above what I should have been playing as an elementary school kid but it changed my life. I have been thinking about this game ever since. I still have the original 5 disc game AND the official strategies and secrets game guide. I am so happy I can now show MY kids this game. It is a beautifullly told story and opens up your imagination even decades later.

I played this back when it first came out and I have to say I must have been much smarter back then. Good memories when replaying it. Sometimes I wasn't sure what to do but that may be because I had gaps in playtime so I didn't remember what I had done before. Would like to see this redone so the graphics are enhanced. All in all a good game but not everyone will like it. It's quirky but that is why I remember it.

look, i like difficult games, i grew up in early 90s playing without walkthroughs and taking months to figure something out. There are a few old games that don't make sense, are not worth playing because there is no logic backing them. This is one of those games. Who would think to play a word mix game to figure out how to get the paper? who would think to keep hitting the turn handle till it eventually dims so you can talk to the rebel. things like this are nonsense, only found by luck and ruin games. puzzles are clear as i see in a few comments? what a crock of bs. you will have to rely on a walkthrough to play this game, and that's no fun at all. It's quirky, it's interesting but to get to the answers to puzzles is ridiculous

A good port of a classic game. If you have nostalgia for this, it's well worth picking up for 10 bucks. This game left a bigger impression on me than Myst did at the time. I still enjoy it for the story and atmosphere, even if I have memorized all the puzzles.

Pure 90's Let me start by stating that I'm absolutely shocked to find that Obsidian is even on Steam. It must have slipped right in without my notice. I knew I must purchase it as soon as I stumbled upon it for that reason alone. It is one of those games I figured would be lost to time. I played this as a kid on a family computer that ran on Windows 98 years and years ago. It is a game inspired by Myst which was a big game during that time. So, to find it here on Steam is great. It is a puzzle game similar to Myst, but also a surreal trip, with visuals that are very 90's experimental CGI. If you've ever seen the Gate to the Mind's Eye which was a series of CGI music videos set to Thomas Dolby music, you'd know what to expect coming to this game. In fact, the music in the video on the game's store page I'm quite sure is from that series of videos. Surprisingly, this Steam version runs well out of the box. Though the pixels are giant, which isn't too surprising. Just don't come in expecting super clean visuals, it's from the 90s through and through. When CRT monitors was the thing with tiny resolution. I do recommend, BUT, expect a trip to the past.

I played this game years ago when it was new, and images from the game still haunt my thoughts to this day. It is very unique and captivating. I would compare it to Myst, which was groundbreaking in its day, although I found Obsidian much more compelling. I highly recommend it.
