really enjoyable game!! the puzzles are intuitive to grasp but still considerably challenging. some of the levels are very elegantly constructed: the solution is simple and yet hard to reach. such levels feel very rewarding to solve! the art is also very beautiful! great attention to detail. overall, i would definitely reccomend the game to puzzle enjoyers. those looking for an extra challenge will be pleased with the bonus levels!
A very atypical game that despite good puzzle had me often frustrated or dissatisfied. Before I complain about some elements, I do want to underline that the puzzles themselves are good. Some simple some tricky, a good balance, quantity, and complexity overall. I've also enjoyed the artstyle, even if it's nothing extremely visually outstanding. Just a shame that in the last world the floor wires get a bit tangled if not flat out incorrect. Now, most puzzle games become easier if you start drawing a path to the goal from the goal itself, rather than the starting position. This game requires you to do that by default, figuring out where you need who and then solving things back to front. But because your inputs are still in normal time, I found myself often repeating segments of a puzzle to put the final piece in place, and then go back to the start of the timeline to set up the next furthest piece. And if I messed up the order or timing along the way? Gotta set it up all from scratch, or the furthest up point I can manage to shuffle the changes/forgotten bits. I heavily enjoy the fact that saving your replay is part of the puzzle, but it also creates very frustrating scenarios in actually executing a solution when you know already know what it is. Secondly, and this will revolve around the final bits of the game,
while playing I would wish for more interactions between the different sub-levels throughout it, and the final chapter really delivered in that regard. But then when it did come to solving the final puzzle, I had so many options that I was no longer solving a puzzle, I was now arranging a complex dance routine, telling each and ever piece where to go. And I like that, but also it felt anticlimactic for the final puzzle of the game to be so open-ended, with so many solutions, that it hardly can be called a puzzle.
It made it a bit unsatisfying towards the end, which is a bit of a shame because I really did enjoy my time with the puzzles. Ultimately I do think it's a game worth its price. It's not super long nor super hard, but if neither of those are a deal-breaker to you, then consider giving it a whirl.
Puzzle games are not what I usually play, but this one is special. The graphics and art style as well as the polished mechanics make me want to play more. This game makes you really feel like an Observer - IGN Probably.
Absolute cinema.
I played Observe for about an hour and really enjoyed it. It’s a clever indie puzzle game built around time manipulation and cooperating with your past and future self, and the core mechanic feels fresh and well thought out. The puzzles are challenging but fair, requiring planning ahead and paying close attention to how previous actions replay. The atmosphere is quiet and ominous, and the theme of regret fits the gameplay surprisingly well instead of just being background story. If you like indie puzzle games, time-based mechanics, and atmospheric, thoughtful experiences, this one is definitely worth playing!
Very cool and interesting puzzle game! You have to solve puzzles and then solve more puzzles, and when you already think you solved the puzzles, it turns out that you have to go back to a previous puzzle to redo it in a way that fits the bigger picture, and THEN you get it and you get that eureka moment and it's glorious. Highly recommend to all the puzzle enjoyers!
Playing this and going "oooooooooooooooooooooh, I see" a bunch
Cool game with a very original and interesting concept. The puzzles are hard sometimes but solving them is very satisfying
this game puts your observational skills to the limit
Amazing little puzzle game. The mechanics using light and your previous plays from other rooms are very creative in many sections. I definitely recommend picking it up and giving it a shot, you won't be disappointed.
