While the game is indeed cute and charming, it has several issues that make it actively unpleasant for me to play. The camera is both inverted to what I'm used to with no apparent option to change it, and is very overly sensitive to the point that it'll switch from a third-person perspective to a first-person perspective at a different angle when I simply try to turn the camera. I don't know if it's some problem with my controller that doesn't happen with any other games, but it's very nauseating. The general flow of levels and the little map of levels itself are both pretty unintuitive and with the camera issue it becomes difficult to remember how to get anywhere specific. Controller inputs for run and jump display as the wrong button, and remapping them does nothing. Several collectibles have been glitched, ranging from not spawning at all to appearing but not having a hitbox allowing me to pick them up. It's also very easy to get stuck in ledge geometry or miss jumps often, with it not being clear whether you slid off an edge or if the meshes for platforms are slightly off. I wanted to enjoy this one as I love a calm little 3D platformer, but unfortunately this one's far too unpolished to feel worth any more of my time.
A short and sweet collectathon platformer with some really great vibes. This game's strongest points are its art style and soundtrack. The art has this really cute 1980's toy / anime / fantasy vibe- like a cross between Gloworm, Strawberry Shortcake, and Sanrio's Little Twin Stars. The music sounds like it would be right at home on the N64, so it's very nostalgic. Nice little game to pick up when you're in the mood for something chill!
so cute and fun! pretty tricky to perceive depth though so if you struggle with games similar to super mario 64 this might not be for you. overall a lovely time.
Quirky retro inspired platformer with ethereal aesthetics, a refreshingly nostalgic experience!
This is such a fun little charming game. It's a very simple little collectathon, but with cute and retro visual aesthetic, as well as the great music, just makes this game a lot of fun to play even if it's short.
I love that the game throws you in and basically tells you nothing. It's cute and kinda hard, but hard as in "oh, I'm stupid. I should have done it like that" kind of hard. It took me 80 minutes to finish it and I bet it'll take other people a lot less. I really recommend playing this if you have a 3D pixel platformer itch that you want to satisfy. Also, the music really good, kind of repetitive if you get stuck on a level for too long.
Electric Fairyland is a delightful indie platformer that embraces the charm of classic 3D collectathon adventures while presenting its own whimsical personality. Instead of focusing on sprawling worlds or complex mechanics, it delivers a concise experience that celebrates exploration, colorful environments, and lighthearted storytelling. Players take control of Stix, an ordinary individual who unexpectedly finds themselves transformed into a fairy and stranded within a magical garden teeming with oversized plants, hidden pathways, and peculiar woodland creatures. The objective is straightforward yet engaging: uncover the secrets of this enchanted realm, rescue its tiny inhabitants, and eliminate the mysterious corruption threatening their peaceful home. Its simple narrative serves as an inviting backdrop for an adventure driven by curiosity and discovery rather than dramatic storytelling. The core gameplay revolves around classic platforming fundamentals that will immediately feel familiar to fans of retro-inspired adventures. Every level encourages players to leap across obstacles, glide through the air, discover hidden routes, and gather a variety of collectibles scattered throughout the environment. Glitter, marbles, red keys, and other valuable items provide constant incentives to thoroughly explore each stage instead of rushing toward the finish. With over twenty handcrafted levels, the game maintains a satisfying rhythm by offering fresh layouts and collectible placements while avoiding unnecessary repetition. The controls are responsive, movement feels fluid, and the compact level design ensures that every area remains enjoyable to explore without becoming overly complicated or time-consuming. Visually, Electric Fairyland succeeds through creativity rather than technical ambition. Its stylized graphics evoke memories of late-1990s platformers, using bright colors, simple geometric designs, and imaginative scenery to create a world that feels both nostalgic and inviting. The oversized flowers, twisting vines, dense patches of grass, and tiny fairy settlements reinforce the illusion of exploring a miniature magical ecosystem hidden beneath ordinary nature. Rather than overwhelming players with visual effects, the game relies on cohesive art direction to establish a relaxing atmosphere that remains consistently charming from beginning to end. This artistic approach allows the fantasy setting to stand out while giving the adventure a timeless quality that complements its retro inspirations. The presentation is elevated further by an enchanting soundtrack that perfectly matches the game's whimsical tone. Gentle melodies accompany exploration without becoming repetitive, encouraging players to slow down and appreciate the colorful surroundings. Sound effects are crisp and satisfying, making every jump, collectible pickup, and interaction feel rewarding. Together, the audio and visual elements create an immersive experience that captures the innocence and wonder associated with classic family-friendly platformers. Even though the adventure is relatively brief, the polished presentation ensures that each moment feels memorable and carefully crafted. One of Electric Fairyland's greatest strengths is its confidence in remaining a compact experience. Rather than artificially extending its playtime through repetitive objectives or oversized maps, it delivers a focused adventure that can be comfortably completed in around an hour. This shorter format keeps the pacing consistently engaging while respecting the player's time, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a relaxing game that can be enjoyed in a single sitting. Players looking for deep progression systems or extensive replay value may wish for additional content, but the game's concise structure ultimately works in its favor by ensuring every level contributes something meaningful to the overall experience. Electric Fairyland is a heartfelt tribute to the golden era of 3D platformers while maintaining its own distinctive identity through charming world design, satisfying exploration, and accessible gameplay. It successfully captures the joy of collecting hidden treasures, discovering secret paths, and navigating imaginative environments without burdening players with unnecessary complexity. Although its modest length prevents it from becoming a grand adventure, its polished mechanics, inviting atmosphere, and nostalgic appeal make it an enjoyable experience from start to finish. For players who appreciate compact indie platformers that prioritize creativity and charm over sheer scale, Electric Fairyland offers a rewarding journey that leaves a lasting impression despite its brief runtime. For the price I can't complain too much, I wanted to like it, but It's just too clunky and frustrating. It's so visually cluttered and the camera controls are so bad that it makes just looking around for the collectables a pain; it's a huge issue for the platforming too. I got stuck in walls a lot after floating down into them, I do appreciate that just re-loading into the game fixed that and didn't leave me in the exact spot. The overall navigation between levels is annoying and not intuitive to get around, I was always guessing which portal would lead me where even if I had been though it a few times over cuz I'd be all spun around
Super cute and whimsical little game <3 the art is super adorable and the story is simple, but cute and touching. The music fits well and gives a lot of magical atmosphere <3 Again the art is super cute and I love the little details like how the glitter / stars look. I used a keyboard and the movement was a bit clunky at times, but it wasn't a big bother to me. Only 2 things kind of bothered me: it was hard to select things in the menu and settings page since the selection would move so fast when I barely tap my keyboard. I also ran into a common bug, it seems, where I didn't collect all the glitter in certain rooms despite looking everywhere for it. It turns out, pausing and unpausing the game causes the glitter to reappear sometimes. Despite the bugs, I still really love this game and recommend it if you don't care too much about little things like that. Still very playable and fun to experience! If you're going to try this game with keyboard I recommend looking at the controls in the settings and keep in mind x is to select something while c is to exit in the menu.
Cute little thing! Simple platforming combine with a charming artstyle and groovy tunes for a pleasant, if somewhat basic, experience. There's something charmingly retro about how much of the gameplay challenge is derived from fiddling with the camera.
