This is not the ''O2Jam'' I know... They're just reused all the assets from mobile version and somehow make it worse. - Internet requires to play on PC but you can actually play it in offline mode on mobile? seriously??? - UI and charting quite terrible! Please hire some graphic designer for god sake. - So many songs is missing...such a V3II / Identity V and more (These songs playable on mobile version btw) - Never trust O2Jam Dev! since they used to scammed us so many time. (Just look at they did to the old game) - They're started to use AI generated to make a cover song (Rhythm games doesn't need an AI slop) I'm refunded now so... if you miss the classic O2Jam, you can try EZ2ON! there's O2Jam DLC available and it's has a lot of potential more than this one :(
한번 더 믿어본 내가 잘못이다
So... after many trial and error for the brand game name since childhood... I can say THIS ISN'T THE SAME "O2JAM" WE ALL KNOW OF.... For those don't know for the context the IP holder still questionable, after many thrown to many publishers and finally return to "ex-CEO" holder.... I was hoping the future of O2Jam can be like other rhythm game such as DJMAX, EZ2ON, PLATiNA : LABS, and more you named it (except osu! pls). But the reality kicks in with so damned recycled mobile port and so called "Beginning" is not enough to gain respect "EVERYTHING". So here's the summary : PRO : -No nProtect. -No Memory Leak error. The game is fully stable. -No need to fix keyboard error unlike the disaster one. -Songlist content were followed by mobile port including new addition like Reku Mochizuki, Transin, SneakySN, zomay, 胡桃, AnchoV, and more. -You can choose FPS depending on your monitor refresh rate, or VSYNC On. -Localize language UI. -NO MONTHLY SUBS! so all Gear, Noteskin, Songs are fully unlocked. -Roadmap plan on future update announce on it's X/Twitter account. They really wants your feedback for future O2Jam. CONS : -The same "O2Jam - Music & Game" but in form of "Steam" platform -Online connection required, even though no sign of DRM such as XIGNCODE. -7K finally implemented BUT ALL OF THEM WERE AUTOGEN 3K+4K+5K combined -No multiplayer for now, planned in the future. -2D layout is fine, but x-speed were limited from 1-10. -Note Calibration must be turn on, or else you will hear some desync on audio. -No ASIO support, so brace yourself with MP3 compression audio quality. -No sign NVIDIA Reflex / AMD Anti-Lag or any GPU optimization, pretty much basic on Unity Engine. -Some illustration are AI generated. -Songlist UI are optimized but still clunky. -Copyright Claim still intact. EVEN THEIR MUSIC LICENSE WERE EXPIRED SINCE MOMO CORP (Disclosure of O2Jam U / Mobile) -They really need new gamedev at this point. -Not worth to paid if the company really milking into AI slop.... I KNOW IT! Now back to O2Jam Company which is now "MusicTurbine". I don't mind playing mobile port @ steam and update new addition based from the feedback/suggestions, and I get it, devs are human too, but if you just milking the same way like VALOFE does, THIS AIN'T WORTH ANYTHING TO O2JAM. DO IT FROM SCRATCH, DON'T USE RECYCLED ASSET, GAIN SOME RESPECT FROM COMPOSERS, ILLUST. ARTIST, PATTERN DESIGNER for content wise or anyone who had some NDA at the first place. If they didn't hear the room, then there's no O2Jam at all. Just play other rhythm game you name it for now. =============================================== FINAL RATING : "O2JAM AI SLOP ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"

Hurry with the 7-Key option, please. T_T
O2Jam: The Beginning serves as a modern revival of one of the rhythm genre's most recognizable franchises, bringing its classic keyboard-focused gameplay to a new generation while honoring the mechanics that longtime fans remember. Developed and published by SuperTurbine Technology Inc., the game arrives in Early Access with the goal of rebuilding the O2Jam experience through continuous updates, expanded music selections, and new online features. Rather than reinventing the series, it focuses on preserving its core identity while refining it for contemporary PC audiences. The heart of the experience is its impressive library of original music. Instead of relying on licensed hits, the game showcases an extensive collection of songs composed specifically for rhythm gameplay. Players can enjoy everything from energetic electronic tracks and rock-inspired anthems to melodic piano compositions and orchestral arrangements, with contributions from many composers closely associated with the O2Jam franchise. Classic fan favorites return alongside brand-new additions, ensuring that both veterans and first-time players have a diverse soundtrack to explore. The developers have also committed to steadily expanding the music catalog through regular updates, giving the game long-term replay value beyond its initial release. Gameplay remains faithful to the formula that made the series popular. Players match falling notes with precise keyboard inputs, rewarding timing, rhythm, and consistency over simple button mashing. Multiple key layouts, including beginner-friendly modes and more demanding configurations, allow players to gradually improve their skills while providing enough challenge for experienced rhythm game enthusiasts. Customizable controls further enhance accessibility by letting players tailor the setup to their preferred play style. Every successful run feels satisfying because mastering each chart requires genuine practice and precision rather than luck. Replayability is strengthened by the inclusion of global and regional ranking systems that encourage players to continually improve their scores. Competing against friends or climbing worldwide leaderboards adds another layer of motivation beyond simply clearing songs. Rhythm games naturally reward repetition as players memorize patterns and refine their accuracy, and O2Jam: The Beginning embraces this competitive mindset by giving players meaningful reasons to revisit tracks repeatedly in pursuit of higher rankings and better performance. The Early Access roadmap is one of the game's most promising aspects. The developers outline plans to introduce additional songs, new gameplay modes, enhanced customization options, avatar systems inspired by the original online version, improved user interfaces, controller support, and expanded community features. Various gameplay refinements, synchronization improvements, and exclusive PC content are also planned as development progresses. This roadmap demonstrates that the current release represents only the foundation of a much larger project, with future updates intended to significantly broaden the overall experience. Visually, the presentation favors readability over excessive visual effects. The clean interface keeps players focused on incoming notes, ensuring that gameplay remains responsive even during fast and technically demanding songs. Character customization and visual personalization are expected to expand over time, but even in its current state, the game's simple aesthetic effectively complements its competitive rhythm mechanics without creating unnecessary distractions. Being an Early Access title, however, means there are still areas that require refinement. Some interface elements retain traces of their mobile origins, while certain planned features remain unavailable at the current stage of development. Players expecting a fully complete package may notice missing content or rough edges as the developers continue polishing the PC experience. Fortunately, the transparency regarding future updates suggests that many of these shortcomings are already being addressed through ongoing development. Overall, O2Jam: The Beginning successfully captures the spirit of the original series while laying the groundwork for a larger and more feature-rich future. Its excellent collection of original music, satisfying rhythm gameplay, flexible difficulty options, competitive ranking systems, and ambitious development plans make it an appealing choice for fans of music games. Although its Early Access status means there is still room for improvement, the fundamentals are already solid enough to deliver an enjoyable experience. If the developers continue following their roadmap and actively respond to community feedback, O2Jam: The Beginning has the potential to become one of the stronger rhythm games available on Steam. Rating: 6/10
It's pretty good and promising! You need to lower you expectations for A WHILE, the dev is keep updating the game. Even so, it's pretty decent for now! The song is pretty good, you need to buy the DLC which is not really expensive. For Dev : 1. Please fix the long note, sometimes when the long note ends, my combo is gone; 2. You need to keep adding new song; 3. Develop the real time multiplayer; 4. You need to add the random / panic notes; 5. Fix the Middle Note's (space) wide, it's supposed to be wider than the "s d f j k l" notes. I'm recommending this game to all of you whom looking for nostalgic feeling. I hope more improvements are coming. Cheers!
