This game has a new take on tiling puzzles. But unfortunately, the game has a few flaws so it makes it a little frustrating to play. I've won and lost games without knowing what really helped or hurt me. First, room completion is too hard. I understand that you're not supposed to complete every room, but between the shape and location of doors, it is not easy to complete a lot of the rooms, especially on some levels where there are a lot of strange shapes. (Or could be just RNG) Second, RNG makes it a bit difficult to strategize. You could be going for a certain goal but the game may end before you can complete it because you don't have that room available, or because enemies can destroy you because their door location makes it convenient for that room that just showed up while your isn't. I think there are a few tweaks that can make it play more fluidly. For one, there could be a power that alters the location of the doors in a room. And probably a power that lets you select a room from a bigger pool for 1 turn. For pvp room destroying levels may be let the player build a few starter rooms without fighting. (But I know balancing a game like this can be hard) Overall, this is a game is not as light hearted as a puzzle game because of the competitive aspect, but it doesn't quite scratch the itch for a proper strategy game either. I unfortunately cannot recommend it.
It's a PC version of a board game Castles of Mad King Ludwig. The game lacks immersion, that could be easily fixed, but yet it is pretty playable.
A quirky and weird game, the randomness can be a bit weird at times but everyone uses the same random selection. I enjoyed, although a few levels felt odd. I was disappointed with some of the later characters you're given to play. But the earlier characters had charm. Probably not a good multiplayer game like it hints at wanting to be though.
SNAPSHOT
An almost tetris that never scratches any itch
OVERALL - 4 / 10

PROS
+ an interesting idea overall
CONS
- nothing ever fits properly
FULL REVIEW
Maybe I came in here with too high of hopes - Mortal Glory is a lot of fun so I was expecting this to be just as good. Unfortunately while the concept here seems fun the idea never really seems to take off. Some of this may be due to a lack of any real depth in terms of gameplay (you're basically just placing tiles and hoping that something good will come of it), but each game also seems pretty dependent on RNG that never gives players anything good enough to be all that excited about. I think by far the biggest issue here is that the room pieces never actually fit together properly, so only rarely do you ever get any completions. Some of this is due to the pieces having so many different places for doors, but the room shapes also play a pretty large part in that there are so many variations in their grid sizes that there is no kind of "standard" making them easily placeable in comparison to each other. As a result, most of the time you're forced to just haphazardly place things and block some number of your own doors meaning those rooms will never get completed properly. Overall I think this game could've been amazing if it was more akin to a Peggle-like experience where placing rooms had a lot more "reward" mechanics, but like with the gameplay itself it seems to have gotten in its own way there a bit which prevents it from ever hitting that higher bar for excitement.

Pretty neat tile-laying game with lots of different strategies to win and different scenarios that require you to change your style of play often. Great on Steam Deck, too, though it requires a lot of scrolling and zooming in and out, as the tiles and their connection points are somewhat small and hard to identify once the board is more populated. +extra bonus points for providing board game-style local multiplayer
The main single player campaign took about 9-10 hours. It is important to note the completion effect of rooms. You can complete rooms by having something connected to all doors.
