Not Another Weekend

Fun adventure game, interesting and funny puzzles. Sometimes the puzzles are a bit gated, i.e. you need to complete actions in a certain order to progress. But the story is interesting, and there is a nice macabre / amusing tone to the whole thing. Think Leisure Suit Larry / Monkey Island vibes. Recommended.

An amazing and fun point and click adventure game. The puzzles are very well sign-posted so if you pay attentio you always know where to search adn what to try next. Loved the twist in the game and all the characters are funny and also inspired by my favourite characters from the 80s. Definitely recommended to all the Adventure games lovers especially if they like the 80s and ... Lovecraft!

Adventure game that doesn’t waste your time with illogical puzzles. Because the game isn't aiming to reinvent the wheel, the gameplay is reminiscent of the old point-and-click adventure genre. You use a mouse to look for hotspots on the screen. While the right mouse button is always used to inspect objects, the left mouse button changes depending on the hotspot. Because it's so simple to overlook anything crucial, the game features a hotspot reveal. What makes the game interesting is that it takes place entirely in a hotel with three floors plus basement and roof. Although the first few minutes restrict your movement, you quickly gain access to every floor. Since you can’t use the elevator, a very useful map quickly transports you to any floor. You play a bellboy who is responsible for almost everything. He has a beeper that goes off whenever someone requires you to go somewhere. The bellboy, on the other hand, has a secret assignment from his uncle: he must force every visitor and staff to leave the hotel. When you are not engaged with your chores, you can run around the hotel looking for stuff that can assist you in getting rid of people. The main concept is that you must ensure that the visitors' wishes are not fulfilled. The secondary feature of the map is really useful because it shows information on all characters. By holding your cursor over their portrait, you may discover more about them or your current goals. The game doesn’t bother you with crazy puzzles. You typically know where to go, and there's usually something in the character information that will send you in the proper direction. Another factor that makes the game easier is that there aren't many items to collect. The hotel floors remain largely the same throughout the game. The only new additions are the guest rooms, although even they lose their utility after a while. The game takes place over the course of a weekend, with each day separated into four parts from sunrise to evening. Each part of the day has people located in different parts of the hotel. The solution is found by talking to people and see if they have something else to say or by revisiting locations and looking for something new. Since the game is stuck in a single location, it might get a bit repetitive after a while. The other downside is that you don’t have any options if you get stuck. Similar games normally offer several tasks that may be solved independently, however in this game you must follow a straight path.

Vor länger Zeit schon durchgespielt aber sehr Geil. Für Liebhaber aller Leisure Suit Larry, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle usw. kommt dieses Spiel daher das genauso Lustig, durchgedreht und vielen einfallsreichen Kommentaren der Charakter gespickt ist wie seine alten Kollegen von damals oder auch heute. Ihr Spielt hier den guten Pagen der versucht durch viele Point und Click Rätsel sich seiner Gäste im Hotel zu entledigen. Hört sich einfach an ? Leider nein^^ den diese Gäste sind alles andere als einfach davon zu Überzeugen das beste Hotel der Stadt zu verlassen (HUST), Doch wenn ihr euch Fragt mhh ein Paar einfach Gäste nein viele Bekannt Gäste aus den 80er erwarten euch mit lustigen Einlagen. Zudem einige versteckte Ostereier die mich persönlich Entzückt haben :) Alles in Allem gut gelungen, das gute 20 Stunden Spaß bereitet, also ein Kauf wert.

A fun, retro experience for anyone looking for a quirky story and some problem solving. Definitely has 'Day of the Tentacle' and 'Maniac Mansion' vibes while still being it's own, unique beast. Playtime is not too long, but rather than being a bad thing, it feels like the right amount of time to tell it's story and even at full price of $9.99, it feels like money well spent, in my opinion. Now, the art takes a minor hit to the over-all score with some pixel art being at different pixel scales and some animations having blur frames, but that is a tiny nit-pick in an otherwise great game and experience.
