I’ve played every Northern Tale game (1–4) and enjoyed them immensely. They’re simple time-management strategy games, but they have a charm that hooked me. The familiar art style, characters, and progression always made me want to push for 3-stars and complete every achievement. Northern Tale 5, however, feels noticeably different. First off, is it Northern "Tale" or Northern "Tales". The other 4 say "Tale" and 6 says "Tales" with 5 saying "Tale" on here but "Tales" in-game. Not a big deal but confusing. Didn't know 6 existed until I found it by accident. Also, the art style changed, the characters don’t look or feel like the ones I’ve come to know through the series, and while that alone isn’t a dealbreaker, it makes the game feel disconnected from its predecessors. It’s still playable, still functional, but it lacks some of the atmosphere and characters that made the earlier titles so memorable. My biggest frustration though, admittedly as a completionist, is the achievements. I finished the campaign and the bonus level only to find out later that the additional 6 extra levels required to complete the “find all hidden items” achievement exist only in the Collector’s Edition… which isn’t even available on Steam. That means the achievement cannot be completed in the version sold here, which is extremely disappointing when Steam offers the Collector’s Edition of Northern Tale(s) 6, but not this one. Also that's 6 levels less I was looking forward to. If there were an option to upgrade to Collector’s Edition on Steam, even for a few dollars, I’d gladly pay for it. But if I have to replay the entire game from scratch on another platform just to access the extra content, that’s a dealbreaker for me. I’ve supported the whole franchise on Steam, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and now 6, so missing CE content on just this entry feels like a poor decision for completionists and loyal players. I’ll move on and play Northern Tale(s) 6 before I put the series to rest, though based on early impressions, I’m not expecting it to reach the quality and heart of the first four. TLDR: Solid enough entry for gameplay alone Noticeably different vibe/art direction Cannot 100% achievements or play additional 6 levels without Collector’s Edition that doesn’t exist on Steam Good game but play somewhere else that has the Collector's Edition. Seriously Steam, it's been 5 years.
I've been a fan of the Northern Tale series for a while, and was excited for a new entry. However, I can't recommend this entry unless you've played all of the others before and still want more. The new mechanic in this one is a hidden object game. However it is a poor addition. In every level there are three to five things that you have to collect, but the game doesn't tell you what they are. So, you have to look up a guide. As soon as you click once, the level starts so you have to be quick about finding all the objects. Another related issue with this game is the uneven, and sometimes unfair difficulty. Many levels are fair and pretty easy, but several are unfair and require exactly perfect execution. For example, I spent about 3 hours on level 26 and missed it by less than 5 seconds nearly every time. When the margin is that short, having the hidden objects taking up even a few seconds of the level ruins the experience. After finding all hidden objects, the in-game achievement didn't trigger. There is a bonus level, but it triggered before I got all the stars, and nothing else happened after I got them all. It reuses music and assets from the previous games, which is not uncommon for this genre. The game lacks Steam features. There is no cloud saving and there are no achievements. The plot is pretty good, however the translation has grammar errors from time to time, and doesn't flow well. Overall it's not a terrible game however the other games in the series are better. Start with the first one and if you still like it after you've played all the others, only then give this one a try.
Lige til at gå til. Afslappende underholdning, men man skal alligevel tænke sig om, ellers låser man sig fast. Kan kun anbefales.

This game has stopped working for me. It used to work. Now it just starts and disappears in the background/on the side. It is nowhere, but the computer thinks it is running. If anyone has advice, please tell me!
Bon passe temps.
This game is fun and relaxing. It is also positive. It promotes hard work, team work, sacrifice, discipline, nobility, and courage.
