Nonogram Animal Griddlers

a good nonogram is hard to find if you have some standards regarding basic functionality, because sadly most developers don't. [b]nonogram animal griddlers[/b] was really bad when it first came out, then about a year and a half later it got patched up, but it's still not in a good place, unfortunately. [b]120 animal-based grids between 10x10 and 20x20[/b], so not an insane amount or size, but I like that it has a theme and I like the theme itself too. all 6 packs and all the levels are unlocked, so you can do them in any order, but unfortunately level names are shown for unsolved levels as well, spoiling stuff, while size isn't shown on the level select screen. finished levels remain solved, so you can look at the result by loading them again. [b]the presentation is not great[/b], the menu could cover more of the screen, and it's also very green, but you're coloring grids based on number clues without guessing, so it's fine, especially after colors got adjusted a bit for better number visibility. you can have multiple player profiles and there's a very brief help screen covering the absolute basics. [b]individual mid-level progress is saved when you quit[/b], this is where most games in the genre immediately fail, and without it no matter how good the rest is, it's worthless. [b]no timer or mistake counter or level reset after a few[/b], numbers fade out one by one, can't leave the current line once you start filling, can't accidentally change a cell's contents by dragging the mouse over it, and said dragging shows how many cells are currently selected if it's more than 4. in fact, [b]mouseover on a filled tile shows how many cells are in that particular section[/b], which is excellent, not sure if I've seen it elsewhere. wouldn't mind it becoming a standard, but since even more basic stuff is too much to ask for most of the time, I won't hold my breath. toggles are available for the filled block counter, the divider after every 5 cells (why would anyone want to turn that off?), the location indicator (highlights current row/column, helpful), and you can turn off blocking filled or crossed cells, so dragging can overwrite their contents. the more options the better, but again, why would you? [b]no undo/redo[/b], but I don't find it as crucial as in other puzzlers. and while accidental overwrites are handled, it went a bit overboard: [b]an entire line can't be marked easily[/b] if there are crossed or filled cells somewhere, as [b]the selection stops at the first 'obstacle', annoying as hell[/b]. it's obviously mouse-driven (though I've seen masochists playing other nonograms with a controller, it was painful just to watch), [b]plenty of control options are available[/b]. the default fills/unfills a cell with left click and places/removes an 'x' with right (more or less the standard), the other method fills a cell with left, then have to right click to empty it and another right click to cross it out, then left click to remove the 'x' (yeah, it's as bad as it sounds). the next is the same but it allows free drag, so it's even worse, and there's one that only involves left click to select buttons on the ui, good for touchscreens. wasn't a fan of the sound effects, a lonely piano provides the background music, and there are separate volume settings and a next song button (always appreciated, there's usually at least one track I'd like to skip in most games), a windowed mode toggle with a smaller non-resizable window and no resolution options. settings aren't available while playing, and with progress saved and no timer or any sort of rating, there's no real need for an actual pause menu, but it would still be nice to have access to settings anytime (alt+enter works as a windowed mode toggle). another major issue, since they're the most important part of a nonogram, is [b]fading numbers not always working as they should[/b]. if it ever gets fixed up, it'll be among the recommendable few, even if it's not gonna be my favorite, but might as well skip it until then. [b]there's a demo[/b] if you want to try it.

Not many levels and the bat level is unsolvable due to a mistake made by the devs

Horrible, HORRIBLE UI and controls. It's even worse than it looks in the trailer because they disabled the 5-line separators (which are ugly), the tiny blurry resolution isn't showing, and it also doesn't showcase how bad the controls are. I've played this mess for 4 minutes and idled for another minute just to write this review.

Nonogram Animal Griddlers is a basic Nonogram game... for those who never played one, it's a kind of grid-deduction-puzzle game, not unlike Minecraft or Sudoku. You're given a grid and a number of numerical clues. You must deduce where the safe places to click are. In a Nonogram, the correct clicks will reveal a small, obviously low resolution image or pattern. Yay, what fun. This is why top of the line gaming PCs costs thousands of dollars, right? Actually when this got chambered for the next game for me to review, I was dead sure this was yet another Creobit/8floor asset flipped mobile app, but it's really not. Someone in the Netherlands independently made their own Nonogram game, which was rejected by the mobile app stores, and amazingly it's even worse quality than all the 8floor asset flips plaguing Steam. Seriously, 8floor has dumped 41, yes, fourty-one of these griddler games onto Steam, all asset flips of the same core game but with slightly different puzzles. Now, the developer here as far as I know is unrelated to those 41 asset flips, but I'm bringing it up to paint a picture (get it) about just how valueless this garbage is (and the developer wants money for it). What shall we say about a game that's considerably worse in quality than a lazy mobile asset flip that's been copied 41 times onto Steam? I guess we should go into why it's worse. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. For gameplay purposes, because the user interface for this game is mostly just 2D static text/images... it might as well be a web page. It's functionally no different from a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers on PC. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The UI elements and polish are considerably lower than the 8floor asset flips. The puzzles are lamer, too. As if they could get any lamer. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 110,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 110,000+ games on Steam? Nonogram Animal Griddlers is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 14,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. 全成就达成。 推荐购入cdk，价格一元左右。 游戏只有一个玩法：数织。总6个难度，每个难度20关，全部通关+游玩3小时即可达成全成就。每关的图案都是动物剪影且只有一个颜色，关卡名是该关动物剪影的名称，但可能因为游戏内画布最大只有20x20，导致部分关卡的剪影看起来有些抽象，需要根据名字来辨认动物。 2026/02/27
