EDIT: The bug in the original review was fixed by the developer! I can now say with confidence that the game is worth your time and money. Its fun, its unique, the atmosphere is very relaxed and chill, and making pizzas and looking for new ingredients to put on top of a pizza pie is arguably a highlight of real life, so its definitely a highlight in game as well. The original review is being kept up only so there's context, the complaints I had no longer hold, its worth checking out if you can. I really want to recommend this game as it's charming, the premise is unique and fun, and I like pizza, but as it is right now I have to reload the game every in game day because items and villagers(!) won't spawn/respawn into the world leading to a ghost town that I can't interact with and a story I can't progress. If that bug is fixed, or doesn't show up for you, then 100% buy the game and try it.
This game is so chill! The art is clean, progression feels rewarding, and I am having a blast making pizzas for all the little homies and developing my pizzeria. I love that there is not too much sense of urgency, like how I can close my pizzeria whenever I want so I can explore, shop, craft, and forage. At first I was a little confused by the controls and wished for a tutorial, until I realized that all you have to do is hover your mouse over something if you don't know how to use it and a nifty tooltip pops up with everything that you need to know.
I really wanted to like this game. I enjoy buying small games like this that are in very early access and then watching them develop and grow over time. Unfortunately for Nonno Lorenzo, the growing seems to have come to an end. There haven't been any updates since October, which, while not a great sign isn't necessarily a deal breaker -- these things happen at their own pace. But there are no signs of life in the discussion forums. Questions from players hang there unanswered by devs or moderators, giving the solid impression no one is paying any attention. There are absurdly huge bugs, most mechanics in the game aren't explained, and the world is underwhelming, empty, and hollow. I soft-locked my first game within the first four minutes. If the game cost less than $4, I'd probably just leave it in my library in an 'it's almost certainly dead but who knows state'; but for $12.99? Nuh-uh. This game is why Steam gives refunds. If I remember, I might check back on this game in a year, but, like the dev, I have a feeling I'll have long forgotten about Nonno Lorenzo before then.
This is such a cute came and I loved watching the city come back to life after a few days of feeding them my home cooked pizzas! It's one of those games that you can't seem to put down because it just keeps springing new ingredients, characters and features on you that you want to try out. The world is beautiful and it's just a great feel-good experience that's perfect for when you just wanna chill out for a few hours after a stressful day. It should however probably be explained in game that you can only save by going upstairs going to bed, and that that will also fast forward to the next morning when items will be respawned and villagers will start to wake up again. Once you get the hang of that it's super fun!
It's nice to get a game that brings a chill mindset with it. The audio is calming, the missions are allowing you to explore, building things makes me feel good. This is just a feel-good game and I am over the moon that another indy developer made something that is pleasing to the senses. Grab your copy and have a blast!
Let's be honest, this game is a breath of fresh air from the usual "here is a farm from your grandpa" recycled story we are so used to. Running a pizza shop is such a unique take of the genre and, though very indie, brings an addiction that makes you say "just one more delivery". Sure, the game needs some polish and there are some localization issues throughout but the story is cute, the gameplay is fun, and the soundtrack is lovely. Give this solo developer some love and give this a chance!
Very nice game, lots of things to do, chill atmosphere. Price is really good for content. Dev is very responsive.
Hard to put the game down, the urge to advance and see what is next keeps me playing into the later hours! One of the unique things I like about this game is the ability to play efficiently or casually, simply by taking orders or not taking orders. I love the art a lot too. Recommend to anyone who likes pizza!!!
My husband made me have nighttime pizza parties with this game. I had an absolute blast wandering around collecting zucchini like it's gold and then adding gold and price jacking my favorite customers. It's cute, it's peaceful, and somehow, it's not a cooking game. I am SO excited to see this game grow more! While they work on adding more features like unstuck, I did find that minimizing and maximizing my resolution and wiggling in between the changes got me unstuck every time, even when I somehow got stuck in the river. I seemed to find all the glitches in the game (my husband played longer and found almost none, I don't know what's wrong with me), and considering it's still in early access, I honestly didn't mind too much. Most every glitch had a quick fix. Now I have to have a real life Nonno Lorenzo pizza party, and I can't wait! If you're looking for a bit of peaceful fun, I think this is a great, cute game. It's an absolute blast picking up the villagers' favorites and feeling like a super hero when you roll up in your scooter.
Chill foraging and exploring game. Relaxing
