About
In a forsaken world of radiation and secrets, one AI stands between salvation and collapse. Explore Toska, a haunting nuclear labyrinth, where the echoes of the past meet an otherworldly twist. Can you outsmart the unknown and save us all?
Step into NODE: The Last Favor of the Antarii, a 2.5D puzzle-platformer set in the decaying heart of a Cold War nuclear complex. You command NODE, an autonomous AI, tasked with navigating a Soviet ruin teetering on the edge of catastrophe. Plan your moves, sequence commands, and master timeline-based puzzles to unravel a cosmic mystery that holds humanity’s fate. Every choice shapes the story, every retry sharpens your strategy.

Two ways to play, one set of puzzles. Sequence your actions across a timeline, planning each jump, switch, and dodge before NODE executes the run. Retry, refine, and get it right. Or take direct, real-time control in the new Platformer Mode. The puzzles stay the same. The way you tackle them is up to you.

Set in a haunting Soviet nuclear facility from the Cold War era, where history collides with eerie sci-fi. Blending 2D and 3D, the game’s realistic graphics, rich visual storytelling, and intricate level design create a world steeped in secrets, bathed in dynamic lighting, and filled with chilling, atmospheric sound.

Engage with branching dialogues that blur the line between free will and programmed response. Shape your path through conversations monitored, manipulated, and remembered. In NODE, your decision isn’t just heard. It’s recorded.

NODE rewards those who look closer. Beyond its surface lies a network of hidden challenges, secret paths, and layered narratives waiting to be uncovered by those who question the obvious. Every detour offers deeper insight into the world’s history and architecture, inviting puzzle-solvers to dig beneath the noise and discover what others overlook.

Without the option to take fully manual control of the robot, I asked Steam for a refund....At least, give both option for the player....control by commands OR manual control.... I can't recommend this game cause of that.
Very clever and well thought out level design. A nice take on the puzzle platformer genre. I definitely appreciate the story lore rewards for exploration. I definitely recommend this game if you want a familiar yet fresh puzzle game. One complaint, there were a few audio files for various objects that were not balanced and were incredibly loud. I tried the music/sfx/master volume sliders and they just stayed loud. I think the reactor fan was one and the DEK crane were another (along with a few others I'm forgetting).
So I finished this game in 15.9 hours at a leasurely pace, with a little help from a walk through when I couldn't think outside the box enough to solve some of the puzzles. Overall I liked the game. It wouldn't work if it was much longer though tbh. There is only so much stringing along that most people will tolerate... What did disappoint me was the lack of a big reveal at the end of the game... The hints during the game built this idea up but the end of the game was about as flat as it could get. So it's playable if you like the concept of these puzzles but don't expect much of anything from the story arc side of the game! I'd give it 6 / 10 for the game play. Only buy it if you think you are going to enjoy this because it's basically the entire game! 8/10 for the aesthetics which are wonderful! I totally see why this was a nominated game in this department! 3/10 for the story arc. Hope this helps!
I bought this game because the trailer and screenshots have really dug deep to me from my countless playthroughts through INSIDE. I like the inspiration, the dark soviet setting, incredibly large and rich map, the graphics, sound. Big kudos for native Linux build, that's (also) a correct use of Unity (or any multi-platform engine). Yes, Proton exists, but I just prefer native builds if they are available and there is no reason not to release a linux build as well (no platform fees, no proprietary SDK, no need to register it anywhere at all). But I can't say a lot of positives for the gameplay itself. Some of the puzzles are well made, but not the rest. Later on it relies more and more on repetetive tweaking the *NODEs* (haha) by each tenth of a second for perfect timing in combination long series of brake commands or on pure luck for the right moment you press the button to start the sequence (the part with counter-clockwise rotating platform). I really enjoyed the start, but in my current progress it became really boring. Trying just FWD because I don't see what's there (only the map overview) and I don't know the timing, then stopping, adding set time FWD, jump/switch or other action, again, find a new special part of the track, adjust it, over and over, again and again. This game needed many, many, many times more playtesting than it probably had. Or at least partial rewind of the puzzles. The puzzles are not difficult, but they're really repetetive and boring. If I didn't buy it on sale, I would be somewhat disappointed.
BIG Brain!!
