This is a great game but, i left it on all night for some reason but still, great game
Pretty good but very bent. And killing that girl at the start was great.
Loved the story and characters, and I think it's really cute this whole game is a love letter to his boyfriend. ! SPOILER ! Only issue is is there's a bug where I got the ending where Diego got shot and the two ended things as friends (I was going down the cold Ted path but got him back to warm on the second half), and for some reason it gave me the ending where they kissed before Diego died after the credits, so I'm missing two endings and I already had the kiss goodbye ending so I think it's caused me to have to replay the same path again but I'm not sure what caused the bug.

Basic Breakdown: Nocturnals developed and published by Cowboy Toad Games, is a short, choice-based experience, set in the post-apocalyptic town of Ruddleside. This follows characters Ted and Diego trying to navigate through the horrors around them. Graphics: I wholeheartedly adored them. They're quaint and simple within the limitations provided. For me personally, cohesive designs that fully stand within their identity will always look better than high fidelity just for the sake of it. This is a beautifully crafted world from start to finish, almost like stepping into a living comic book. Soundtrack: Despite it's simplicity, it's well suited and stands out where necessary throughout the evolving situations. Additionally depending on choices you make, my favorite track has to be
when Diego is playing his guitar piece in the school. It's heartwarming and brings the scene, and their blossoming affections to a pivotal point.
Menu: Whilst I always thirst for more options, it didn't really need a whole lot for this simplistic journey that it was. It gave you the core basics of what you require, and did it simply. Final Conclusion: To say that I wished for more, is the utmost compliment. Everything about this was fantastic. Especially the rare inclusion of LGBT characters and relations that just.. work. It's overall a very simple game and premise, but not in a way that detracts from the overarching experience. It's heartwarming depending on the trajectory you make, tragic in others. Alike most decision based games, I do find myself frustrated that choices sometimes aren't at all indicative of what you're picking, or the outcome it manifests. Or what seems like a kind response, turns out to be quite the opposite. However, Nocturnals tends to avoid this for the most part. Much to it's benefit and delight. This was made as a love letter to the developers partner, and rather than the traditional for-profit endeavors, it was zero-budget. A passion project. That in of itself, is worthy of mention for how well it pulled off everything it attempted to.
