[/url] [/u] (NO ACHIEVEMENTS) Title: The Company Summary: Psychological horror mystery game Personal notes: The Company is a short psychological horror experience that places you in the role of an employee, currently employed at the mysterious organization known as The Company. You are tasked with an hour of overtime late into the night and what starts as a normal shift slowly turns SpOoKy as you slowly uncover the truth about The Company. The gameplay is fairly simple and revolves around completing tasks, exploring the office, and progressing through a series of hour-long work sessions. There aren't many mechanics to learn, and most of the experience is driven by observation and slowly uncovering what is happening around you. While this keeps the game accessible, it also means there isn't a lot of depth to the gameplay itself. The level/environment design is pretty solid yet quite small. It does help create a normal yet unsettling atmosphere however which is eerie. This eerie feeling is one of the main reasons I was intrigued to keep playing. The story is pretty simple but effective. Much of the enjoyment comes from trying to figure out what is real and what isn't as the game slowly reveals more information. The audio is pretty decent yet minimal. I think the lack of audio honestly worked pretty well considering but there isn't a whole lot to judge. Visually the game looks pretty good for the most part but a little uncanny. The small office is quite detailed which is nice. One downside is that the experience loses a lot of its impact after the first playthrough. Yes you can find different pathways and twists but I felt like It never had the mystery the initial playthrough had. Achievement-wise, there isn't much to discuss since the game does not have any achievements. Overall, The Company has some genuinely good ideas and does a solid job building mystery during a first playthrough, but it struggles to offer much beyond that. The visuals are impressive and the atmosphere is well done, but the simple gameplay and lack of variety make the experience feel repetitive once you've seen its tricks. I had a decent time with it, but it's difficult to justify at it's current price given the limited content and replay value. I'd only really recommend picking it up during a sale or if the plot really intrigues you. Can The Company Rely On You? This is based on my first playthrough. There’s a timer in the upper-left corner that counts down. That’s really helpful so I’m not having to keep that up myself. I would lose track, even with a timer. The atmosphere right away is off. Your boss, John, is that kind of fake nice type of boss(many of you know the ones) and asks you to work late to cover some important business. It’s for only an hour, so why not? While checking in with your boss on what needs to get done, you e-mail with your wife about your kids, and everything seems normal, except, something is wrong the lights in the building, it seems. There are multiple storylines to complete; I got three in my first playthrough. While waiting on e-mails to come in from multiple others, you can log on to your co-workers computers. They, unfortunately, left their pins on post-it notes right in the open and handled things on company computers they should have left at their homes -especially you, John. Keep that in the bedroom at home and stop homewrecking-. Choices do affect outcomes, and as you progress through the hour, the lights get worse and worse. Other odd things begin happening, and depending on the choices you make, affect our characters night. Mine did not end well, but I don’t regret my choices(I was not handing over my signature so easily). Overall, this is a game with replayability and nice entertainment value. I still have questions I want answers for and will be playing again!

in "The company" you work as an employee in a company. sounds like a work simulator, I know. But this company is shady. They watch you, surveillance your every move and everything you write. you have one hour and can move around freely in a small office building. find documents, read them and share them, when prompted. or not. your choice. the atmosphere is creepy with unsettling music and flickering lights every now and then. it always feels as if someone is lurking behind you, watching over your shoulder... you can spy into the computers of the other employees since they have their sensitive password information out in the open...yeah security breach and all that. the game has full controller support but you might want to experiment with the settings a little, since the default settings are speed walking like Usain Bolt and a very sloooow turning camera. all in all a pretty solid short indie game. 1 hour commitment seems long but it goes by in a jiff. the game's story is told through emails and documents so make sure you read them! there are different endings you can reach, based on your choices. i still have a few to unlock so the replayability is definitely there! if you like text-based indie-games with a creepy atmosphere, this one's for you

I was lucky enough to receive this game a few weeks early courtesy of Crawler Games, and I'm glad I took the time to play it. The game only takes an hour, but it can be replayed multiple times. Definitely worth it for the low price tag. I do also feel the need to mention that this game uses a few AI images, which is really the only thing I dislike about the game.
