No Man's Land

My childhood's game, with a long quality singleplayer campaign (took me 25h i think) that has such attention to detail and soul. Music and the voiceactors are one of the best quality and have a place in my heart. The factions are any kids dream roles while playing: Cowboys, Native americans, adventorous spanish conqistadors and the english redcoats with their proud rebel patriots. The campaign does an amazing job of introducing them and putting them against each other with a great story! The gameplay is great, where each faction feels unique on it's own It was amazing to replay and relive both my childhood memories and this amazing RTS, ill never forget Magua, Te-Gle-Ha, the Sanders family and their adverseries, and that one Spaniard with the same question: Where's the gold? Couse this game is just that.

Dobra klasyczna strategia!

Some people are reporting issues running the game, I had none. The only thing I had to manually do is set the resolution to 1080p through the 'Engine.ini' in the game files, but nothing gamebreaking. Played a single simple match and this is a simple but cool game set in colonization era - you get native americans, american settlers (old west), England and Spain. The graphics are nothing to write home about (AoE 3 is prettier by miles), the unit count is also kind of low (max of 150 units, American Conquest which is also set in the colonization period, has unit count in the thousands) - so there are alternatives which are a lot better. But the game is fun and it's fast-paced as well, there aren't a whole lot of research to do, you get your settlers to grab food/wood/gold and you're set, build your troops and cannons and go to war. I really love the way walls, gates and towers look, it really looks like a colonial fortress. The game features random map generation on 4 different biomes and different map layouts and you can have a total of 8 players in a skirmish or LAN match. The game also features a campaign for the different factions, but i don't usually do RTS campaigns (i honestly should, though) For the price of admission, I think it's totally worth it IF: 1. You already know the game and want nostalgia 2. Or you REALLY want to play a colonial period RTS other than AoE 3 and American Conquest 3. Or you're starving for a different RTS you've never played before Otherwise, honestly, there is no point. This game really deserves a definitive edition with more unit count and better models, but I think it's unlikely to ever happen. And i'm also unsure if I really want to play this game again and again, maybe i'll enjoy another 2 or 3 matches on different map layouts/biomes and then abandon it - but hey, it's really cheap and I liked it

A reasonable little RTS game that I'd never heard of until I stumbled across it by accident for £1 on sale. Gameplay wise imagine some elements from AoE 3, Rise Of Nations & other similar titles of the time. Campaign wise it features short fairly repetitive missions from the perspective of 6 different cultures/factions. Sabotage "X" - Build base and destroy base, build base and protect weaker faction etc. Units can level up through combat, but the veterancy system is one of the most basic I've seen. Still worth utilising, but it really makes minimal difference unless you're meticulous with it. Micromanagement can be a pain as pathfinding is horrendous more often than not, with terrain and trees grappling onto your units like a spider web. Gameplay for one of the factions boiled down to slowly base creeping my frontline towards the enemy base by putting churches down to area effect heal my army. Most factions have a similar gimmick. AI doesn't exist, it's purely scripted to send attack waves and do nothing else. I can't say this game does anything special, the campaign isn't anything to write home about & there's minimal strategy required, nor is the game very complex when compared to its competitors. Yet saying this it does have a level of charm that kept me coming back to finish all 6 campaigns. I liked the cowboys vs Indians aesthetic, most of the maps had this I had 0 compatibility issues during 20+ hours of gameplay, no crashes or hitches on Windows 11. 5.5/10 - A guilty pleasure for sure, but I can't lie & say it's that good, but it isn't bad either.

No Man’s Land — старая школа, настоящий динозавр жанра. Зашёл немного поиграть и понял, что игра на самом деле неплохая: интересные юниты, строительство базы, развитие и всё такое. Но желание продолжать быстро пропало из-за неадекватного баланса между мной и компьютером. Впрочем, тем, кто любит настоящий хардкор и готов страдать ради победы, игра вполне может зайти. Оценка: 4/10 (РУС)

Hra mého dětství, jsem rád že je možné si ji zahrát opět skrz steam.
