Nine Sols is a lore rich, hand-drawn 2D action-platformer featuring Sekiro-inspired deflection focused combat. Embark on a journey of eastern fantasy, explore the land once home to an ancient alien race, and follow a vengeful hero’s quest to slay the 9 Sols, formidable rulers of this forsaken realm.

Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 36.29/day in the week to Jul 24 → 46.14/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Absolutely loved this game! As a Chinese person, I have never caught onto a retelling/mythology SO fast in my life! I thoroughly enjoyed the exploration of all of these themes somehow packed into one game! Doing a retry at the moment to get all the achievements, but I highly recommend it. It's just the right amount of challenge, exploration, and frustration, and each location in the game is rich with background storytelling and life. Each of the bosses and mini-bosses were fun, and I really liked that this game forces you to perfect mechanics with each boss. The cutscenes were perfectly spaced that the game never felt boring or repetitive, and none of the sections felt particularly dragging. And of course the art was beautifully drawn, my friends and I were quite happy to voice act the whole thing in Chinese because it was just that fun. Highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a challenge with a brilliant storyline and a bucket load of nuance that I was very happy to indulge in an analysis with my friend later.

Good
The best chinese metroidvania I've ever played, hot damn thats good
Unfortunately the game is mid at best. I loved Hollow Knight and Sekiro and thought (just like everyone else) that NineSols would be the perfect game for me. I wanted to like it. But after playing through it and even getting all achievements, I just can‘t. First of all, stop shoving your story and dialogues in my face like every 5 Minutes. Am I playing a game or reading a novel? Cutscenes are slow and boring and worst of all - not skippable. I‘m a sucker for lore, but not when I‘m annoyed the f out of it because it frequently interrupts my gameplay and makes me read 10 Pages. The Devs obv wanted to cater to a fanbase of players who enjoy a difficult game. But the magic of games like Sekiro is not „cheap“ difficulty, but actually thought-out and finetuned progression and combat. On the other hand there are games like NineSols who think they can go the easy route by just making the bosses spam attacks relentlessly, make some AoE and projectile ♥♥♥♥ on top and give them a ridiculous health bar. Then they make you eat chain hits because you don‘t get i-frames when receiving damage. So the boss hit‘s you with one of his 6 attacks he spams in a single combo, you fly through the arena into an AoE field, get further damage, respawn (again, without i-frames) just in time to eat the next hit within 0,01s you could not possibly prevent and then fly into a projectile and die - all because you made ONE mistake. Certified discord mods in hawaii shirts will say it‘s peak but it‘s actually just cheap and dumb. You can play the game, you can finish it, it‘s not „impossible“ - but it also isn‘t fun really. Only okay-ish late game fight was actually Eigong. She is relentless and they really wanted to prove something with her it seems, but she still has a learning curve and is somewhat fun to master. Though she could have done with less health for sure. Unbound (charged) counter is the biggest dog poopoo mechanic I‘ve seen in a while. They tried to introduce something new and failed, so hopefully no other game will adopt this. It‘s unfortunate because they could have taken the mechanics and world of this game and do something great with it. You can play it when you enjoy metroidvanias/soulslikes and run out of games to play. But it‘s not a must play imo. Also not worth the full price, please wait for a sale and get it for less than 10 bucks. Cheers.
masterpiece of a game
Recently got this and i've been having a blast, if you enjoy tight, fast, parry-based combat mixed in with fun exploration with something new around any corner in a beautiful world with a stunning sence of style, give Nine Sols a try
Устроил кошачий геноцид и убил всех своих бывших друзей во блага мира, научился парировать личную жизнь. Прекрасная игра 10 потерянных Цзинь из 10
Absolute peak experience. Everything is great but for me it way way harder then other metrodvanians like (ori and hollow knight) , but i beat it and it was worth it.
