i played a good bit of the demo but it's seriously refreshing to see the creature collector genre mixed with roguelites rather than just the typical turn based style. i LOVE raising the nimbits and the combat feels good. i cant wait to see the next few updates!
THIS GAME HAS NO MOUSE AND KEYBOARD SUPPORT ON STEAM DECK. DESPITE REVIEWS SAYING RUNS WELL, IT DOES RUN GOOD BUT IF YOU PLAY HOOKED UP TO A MONITOR THE GAME IS UNPLAYABLE. DOES NOT LET ME USE MOUSE AND KEYBOARD WHAT SO EVER AND TRY TO MAKE ME USE THE STEAM DECK. Sure you could play this game on the steam deck on the, but that is it. if you connect to a monitor you are done for. gg getting a refund ASAP. The developer Replied at a rate so fast that it deserves an IMMEDIATE thumbs up. I will repurchase in the future as I fully support developers that care about the product they put out. I look forward to what may come, thanks to the developer.

Lots of mechanics wich i did not expect in an early access game. Good start
I like it. I don't own a nintendo console and this scratches an itch that Pokemon could never reach for me.
Nimbit Frontier is such a joy to play. The game loop is incredibly fun and satisfying. There’s always something to do, and I love that you never really feel like you’re just waiting around or running out of things to engage with. Every moment feels purposeful, which makes it very easy to get completely absorbed in the game. The level design is fantastic too. The environments are thoughtfully built, and exploring them feels rewarding rather than simply being a way to get from point A to point B. Combined with the gameplay, it creates a really enjoyable flow that kept me wanting to see what was around the next corner. And I absolutely love the way the Nimbit habitat was done. It feels like a place you’re genuinely interacting with and shaping. Building it and seeing how everything fits the nimbit'sneed is my favorite part of the game. Overall, Nimbit Frontier nails the feeling of always having something fun to do while still making exploration and the world itself feel meaningful. The gameplay is enjoyable, the level design is excellent, and the Nimbit habitat is such a charming and well-designed part of the experience. Definitely a game I will pour many and many more hours to come. It is rare to find game you instantly know they're good, Nimbit frontier did that in less than 2 hours and that's awesome.
I got pulled in by the art style at first and was pleasantly surprised by how much content there is, especially for early access. Releasing the Nimbits I've raised is my favorite part. Looking forward to playing more of this.
The tutorial for the first step on creating a Nimbit Habitat shows the first thing you have to do, then stops.....no more guide once I put the habitat down. How do I improve the environment? How do I feed it? Where do I get the food. Just a hint so I can try and work it out, but nope, nothing. So I'm expecting my first Nimbit to die of starvation and boredom because the only thing it has is a bed. So I have rage quit. Ill wait 6 months until there are Youtube tutorials, tips and tricks. I don't usually go for this type of art style but the idea of breeding Nimbits and the colour pallet won me over. I like that you can opt for a chill experience (minus a good tutorial for the most important aspect of the game). I was ready to put hours into this game so maybe tomorrow ill try and work through the habitat issue......unless of course my Nimbit dies over night from lack of food, then ill probably start a new save.
So far, so good. It's a fun world where you raise, nurture, then release little critters called nimbits back into the wild. I like the design and the movement, and the gameplay has been well structured so far. I had a little trouble with a few basics, like how to use the tether (right click your mouse). and as the game is still so new, it's tough to find answers yet. I don't like that each level is more challenging, yet you have to go so you can get new fragments for new nimbits. I "die" a lot though I am well provisioned. I would like more info on in-game time-gated events. I missed the spring filters, so that put me back a while on some of the environments. I'd also like a way to leave a dive early, or go directly to the nexus/trader/boss instead of following the path through every level. Making the path visible from the first level would also help me decide where I want to go. A noncombat path would be awesome, as sometimes I just want to forage, mine, or fish. I'd also love a way to get fragments without combat, maybe level up a skill in building traps/snares? I don't know who to see to upgrade my equipment. Overall, it's a really fun game I am enjoying a lot. If you like collecting and nurturing critters, if you like games where you tend to things, if you like decorating games, if you like games with interesting NPCs, you'll enjoy this one.
I think the core game loop is really, really enjoyable. The social system isn't flashed out yet in case you'd like to see social interactions as in Stardew Valley or similar games of the genre. But the main system that revolves around catching Nimbits, raising them and building habitats to then unlock additional content is extremely well executed. The pace of (the progression of) the game is on the slow side imo and could be improved. Another point is the potential repetitiveness that comes from the narrow loop the EA game presents right now. For me it isnt a problem - quite in contrast I usually unsubscribe quickly from game loops that are too repetitive - as I just enjoy the feeling of booting up the game, having a delve or two, raise some critters, do other chores like fishing and restocking and then boot up another game. I think the charm for me is that the "rhythm" of a day is so clearly defined that it feels very digestible - similar to what daily quest are in MMOs. It feels like the game is valuing my time as a gamer. All in all I can totally recommend giving it a shot. I feel it's unique in its combination of different systems from other games and again for an EA title delivers a lot especially for the price tag.
It's a fun game! To sum it up - You get up in the morning and take care of the critters. Maybe go into town to buy/sell things. And then spend the remaining part of the day down in the underwild gathering resources to do it all again. It's a little bit "complete the collection" (on multiple fronts), with some fighting an action, and apparently a town to befriend. What I like more than anything else - is even though there is a day with hours (and a town that follows those for their routines), there's no hard 'bedtime'. If you want to stay out past midnight - go right ahead! The day only ends when you go to bed. Until you do, it's just "Late" out. So far the only thing that's bothered me is that I want to rearrange my house, but can't figure out how to. I can add new furniture/decorations. But if I put it in the wrong spot, well. It's there forever it seems. Maybe that ability comes with house upgrades, maybe I'm missing something. But it's something I haven't figured out yet.
